So, there's been an annoying fly in my room that buzzes constantly, it lands on the outside of my chameleon's cage and she keeps trying to get it
I'm wondering if it's safe for her to eat, so I can open her cage and let it fly in there, it's just one of those common houseflies, not sure of the...
Sounds easy enough! Though I would have to set an alarm to wake up 😅 I've been bitten before too, doesn't hurt at all compared to an actual chameleon bite. Can't wait to snag me a little anole! Thanks for the info, it was really helpful!
Thanks for the info on where to find them!! But deeper into the question, how do I spot/find them in my backyard? Any techniques I can use?
Thanks for the feeder and watering info, I can definitely do crickets and mealworms. We have multiple misters so that won't be a problem.
We have an extra cage, and I want to care for an anole. First: Where could I find them in the wild? Second: What feeders are good for them and what nutrients do I use? Third: Watering? How do I water? I have more questions, but I'll wait till these are answered.
Yes, it is the new cage. We have two of those, so we're trying to figure out a way to connect them. The species is a Veiled Chameleon. Thanks for the info on laying, I'll put the bin in the cage.
About the UVB: Yes, yes; I know. We haven't had the time and money lately to get another UVB, and we aren't sure how to place it. She has been outside and sitting by a window with natural UVB though, but I'm not sure if that helps. We're going to a PetSmart on Sunday (For birthday presents), and...
Well, as the other post said, I won't. I'm putting the laying bin at the bottom of her cage so she can lay when ready. I hope everything goes according to plan and she lays her eggs successfully.
Yes, yes, yes! Father's friend just gave us a bunch of reptile stuff that they didn't need anymore!! We got ANOTHER cage (screen), a dripper (no more plastic cups with a hole!), tongs or crickets, and some plants and vines!! Now we need to work on better UVB and a wider range of feeders coming...
Is Hoya affinis safe for chameleons? If so, we have some growing in our backyard. I know it hasn't been sprayed with pesticides but is it still safe if grown wild?
Hello! I was seeing if anyone could determine what this vine is and if it is safe for Mobi! I don't have a good picture of it, this is the only picture I have that shows it. (She doesn't eat the flowers by the way, we made sure, and she doesn't show interest in them either)
For the old cage as a lay bin, I will clean it out, add the substrate for her to lay in (We have washed play sand atm), and when she is ready, we will put her in and wrap a towel around the cage for privacy. We will put a dripper into there and some (safe) leaves for her to munch on if she wants to.
We are changing all of Mobi's enclosure and we have new supplies! Screen cage, thermometer, calcium (With D3 and without), etc.! I really hope this is a good change for her! As too what we're doing with the old cage, we're turning it into a laying bin for when she has her eggs! (Sorry for bad...
Milo (my cat) knocked over the cricket cage <3 we had fun cleaning that up. Large crickets all over the house, calcium dust everywhere. Mobi had to come out and help us. Cat got put outside, started yowling and waking up the whole house. Luckily, Mobi got a decent breakfast and most of the...
