I wasn’t able to exactly pin point why, but my suspicion is he needed to pass a sperm plug and held onto his urate for longer than normal. I changed his supplement schedule to the one posted above, and his urates became more normal. Not sure if that’s because of the vitamins or the passed sperm...
Makes sense to me! Thank you, I really appreciate your help here on the forums. I think I’m going to get rid of the rep-cal w/ d3 and the herptivite, get the reptivite WITH d3 and switch up the rotation. That’ll make it easier for me too.
Thank you so much for your advice. We’re just getting over the bitter cold of MN winter, so that makes total sense. I’m monitoring his urates closely now but I haven’t seen anything yet. I also misted this morning so I’ll continue to do that. I’ll look into alternatives for a multivitamin, do...
I did one when I first joined, but I just posted an updated one as some things have changed. Here’s a link

Updated husbandry check
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?: I have a male veiled chameleon who is about 2 years old. He has been in my care since he was about 3-4 months.
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?: When he...
I haven’t done a fecal yet, but I have been looking for vets near me and am planning on doing it soon. I live in a small town so finding herp vets is a little difficult. I found one last night that’s only an hour away from home (the closest I’ve found), so I want to bring him there. I still need...
He eats crickets that are gut loaded with a variety of veggies (collard greens or kale majority + carrots, zucchini, bell peppers, squash or whatever else I pick up minority). He rarely gets superworms as treat, he’s on a diet because his fat pads on his face and the rear of his casque were...
So I came home from work and found a strange urate at the bottom on Raymond’s enclosure. I was immediately concerned, first by how orange it was. I know orange urate=sign of dehydration, but I’ve never seen a urate from him this orange. His dripper is on 2-3 hours everyday and I see him drink...
I sometimes use carrots as apart of my gut loading, fresh ones from the produce section. I shed them and usually mix with a majority of kale greens, but the crickets really love them. Before I supplement, I can see the orange in their stomachs when my reptiles eat them lol. It may seem small but...
His temps are at about 80 degrees below his fixture, about 73 ambient temp. I have noticed him getting pretty close to the top so maybe I’ll move the branch down a bit. I was actually wondering about his weight as well so funny that you mentioned it. I have had him for a year and a half, and he...
So I've noticed some small black spots on Raymond's back that seem to be slightly under his shed. I'm just wondering if maybe you guys have seen this before? I'm not super concerned about it right now, but I don't want it to turn into something worse. I also noticed the tip of his horn is sort...
I cut mealworms out of his diet about 2 weeks ago and he has just been eating primarily crickets. I’ve been waiting on a shipment of dubia roaches and silk worms but it has been awhile due to online shortages. Thank you for your vegetable suggestions, the orange cubes did feel absolutely...
And also for the vitamins, we do have a multi vitamin and a calcium with D3 powder. I was under the impression the powder mentioned in my original post was sufficient. I can’t recall the brand name; we just recently moved and it is in a box. I will update tomorrow once I’ve unpacked it
Yes, I do agree that he is suffering from some MBD. I have been concerned about the uvb output of his light so thank you for your suggestion! I will try out that fixture and bulb.
