    Escaped All Summer

So it has been a while since I posted, been going through some things. But anyway I have a story. So going through rough divorce and was unable to give regular care to my remaining 3 females. Wife did not care and did not secure there cages. By some time in April all had escaped, I was not...

Can you keep a chameleon in an RV?

I am sorry I took so long to get back. Things have been kind of rough with a lot going on. I am sad to say my male scar passed. By the time I could get to him he had not been getting the care he needed and was just too weak. Within the same week or two my macaw passed and I could not be there...

Can you keep a chameleon in an RV?

It is a tow behind and transport temperature is another issue. I can run electric while towing to handle heat, not sure on cool yet. I will transport him in the cab if needed.

Can you keep a chameleon in an RV?

Yes I have already been thinking of redundancy and will be adding solar with larger batteries. I am also planning to get a small emergency generator possibly. But yea if you loose power it is an hour and it it too hot or cold. A normal house will take far longer to before it becomes a problem.

Can you keep a chameleon in an RV?

I can do some things to midigate temperature and humidity. The change doesn’t seem like much but it is up and down all day changing in minutes. Vibration will only be two to 3 times a month. It also doesn’t allow for proper cage height and I will be right there moving. Ok there’s more but the...

Can you keep a chameleon in an RV?

So I am seeing my first concern. I do not have my cham in the trailer yet. But the concern I am having is the constant temp changes and dryness. The trailer blows the warm air up from the floor, which is good, but because it is a trailer the heat kicks on often. The result is that temps may...

    UV compact bulb that works

They defiantly have their place. I use MV bulbs that are more of a spot build, but this is focused on a single place where he likes to bask. I use a 48in over his main enclosure. So these would be great for extending cage boundaries. And I hate to say it but this bulb in the cham death kit...

    UV compact bulb that works

Did we skip wattage ? all the charts and up till now the bulbs were 13W. Now it is 26W that is about the same as a 24in uvb. So there is no lie or magic. The just produced a higher watt bulb. The numbers are what I would expect. The difference is that compact , just by design of the hoods...

    Yemen enclosure base ideas

So there needs to be drainage. If you drill you are braver than I lol. The way it is done is to have a down tube so you can siphon out extra water if needed. The bottom layer is 1 to 2 inch of those clay balls or something similar, but they are the best options. Then screen over the false...

My biggest concern is the weather which would mean overnight, at least for the chameleon. That would be about 125 when I looked at fedEx. I am more concerned with finding good homes so if you are willing to pay the shipping I will not charge for the chameleon. I do still have all five.

Does my cham look healthy? I don’t know why something just looks off to me

So with more pics, it is a male for sure, I see the spur and his size better. If @MissSkittles did a review it is good, so do refer to it. He looks healthy, get his setup square and he will do great. Nutrition right and proper lighting and he will do great.

Does my cham look healthy? I don’t know why something just looks off to me

She looks good, but you will want to replace those plastic plants with live ones when you can. Do you have picks of the whole cage? If she does not have proper climbing branches her behavior may be off. If you want a thoro going over you can fill out the how to ask for help...

    chameleon stuck at airport

I think there is a very good chance he will be OK. They can handle pretty cold, not for extended periods of time but for a night or two it is possible. It also depends what heat packs were used. If inside the box doesn't go below 40f there is a good shot. I mean I would not recommend it but...

Can you keep a chameleon in an RV?

So planning routes and accounting for weather are part of it. The vibrations are experienced buy any animal that has traveled at all, even like in shipping. So I don't think it will be an issue. Like I say I won't be driving daily.

    Build plans to buy

That would be a huge cage, more outside. It is a bit over kill for chams, but it is geared toward larger animals as well. The other key difference is that quick frame cadges once built are built. These are expandable and modular. It is not a replacement for the standard screen cages. It is...
