Was given her in this awesome long tank, a hide, and water bowl. Planning on changing the substrate to coconut fibers and adding some climb branches and an additional hideout because she’s all over the place right now.

Still grieving Lou and feel kinda naked not having a weird little critter around. Decided to adopt this 13 year old female Mexican Red Knee named Isabella. I'm very excited. Any tarantula keepers with advice?

Getting ready to say goodbye to Lou

Also this being said, I have so much lighting equipment, branches, and repashy and straight calcium that if you see someone on this forum who can not afford improving their habitats please tag me in and I will ship it out to those who can’t afford it but need it. Please keep me in mind for this.

Getting ready to say goodbye to Lou

Oh man. Still grieving and doubting and having a hard time since making the call to put Lou down. I asked the vet today after some time if he noticed anything or had any thoughts after the fact. I am copy and pasting his response. I feel that maybe this could of been treated, I’m not sure. We...

He is deficient in it, think it would absorb better via oral injection opposed to dusting his feeders

Getting ready to say goodbye to Lou

Have you guys heard of bug-de-lite? I almost want to jump the gun and get him some liquid calcium. I emailed the vet with his opinion on that and the gout ease treatment they sell. His uric acid levels were at 7.6( or so just made an glimpse), but I am unsure what that level means

Getting ready to say goodbye to Lou

at this point its keeping him comfortable and a close eye to see if anything improves. From there possibly more xrays and bloodwork done? it's not looking too bright but maybe just maybe we can help subside and relieve his current situation. I was prepared to let him go today and now have this...

Getting ready to say goodbye to Lou

So, we just got home from the vet. The vet agreed with me that now that his symptoms are visible (knots and inflamation on a few joints), He may have a form of gout. With his calcium deficiencies leaning toward pseduo gout. He offered to try a few injections and to keep an eye on him over the...

Getting ready to say goodbye to Lou

It was almost like a small balloon moving down his tract, he got two series of xrays taken a week apart, where that mass seemed to move slightly.
