    Madagascar Biome Project

Hope everything goes well, since you aren't going with Madagascar, maybe now you could add some easier CP's, perhaps a N. Ventricosa? Let me know how it all turns out.

    Recommendations for indoor plants

You could add a grow light and really increase the types of plants you can have. That's what I did, I even grow orchids in my setup, as well as pothos, nepenthes, dracena, bromeliads, etc

    Feeding

Well my chameleon is pretty scheduled. He wakes at 8:00, will eat at 11:00 and sometimes at 3:00. At 4:00 he begins his journey to his tree, where he goes to bed at 8:00. He will only eat about 1 cricket every day though, rarely two. How do I get him more interested?

    Madagascar Biome Project

Maybe rather than biotype, how about what people envision the biotype as? We all see Madagascar as a tropical jungle with vines and big leaves, why not make it that. Use as many native plants as you can, but don't let it limit you.

I thought about it and just added a ventricosa to the setup ha ha ha. And yes, I figure if I had a bit more movement in the setup it would be a lot better. I'd love to setup a whole greenhouse with tons of chams, plants, and an artificial stream for my fish.

    Madagascar Biome Project

I've already decided that my next setup, which will be twice as large and for a more social type of chameleon (one where I can have two or three roaming around). Will have a ton of Nepenthes throughout it and far more bromeliads and pothos plants. I'd love to have a foam background too, that...

    Madagascar Biome Project

I'm actually new to most plants too, I've done nepenthes for a while, and orchids for a couple of months, but only recently did I start on bromeliads and such. I'm going to add some nepenthes to my setup soon, probably Nepenthes Ventricosa and N. Alata, but maybe even my N rafflesiana or...

    Madagascar Biome Project

Well mine drinks RO water, our own water is also from a very deep well ha ha ha, it is high in minerals, perfect for people and animals, but dreadful for CP's as well as many other delicate plants like my orchids. He's fine with RO.

    Madagascar Biome Project

I have heard of it, it's in one of my books and I think I almost purchased one once. Sundews need varying conditions, while some may live up to the tropical climate, some others would die. All sundews need poor soil, RO water, and good sun, they usually prefer a bit of shade too.

    Madagascar Biome Project

Ok I'll try to organize some plans, they should be done before tomorrow. I've grown sundew before. Some of the larger ones are really cool to watch. No danger to a chameleon, unless he is the size of a penny. I really like sundews, though I'm not growing any right now, I don't have the right...

    Madagascar Biome Project

Recently I spent a while building a free range. It came out (what I consider) really nice. It's based around a PVC frame. I could design a similar model and send you all the specifications and a parts list to build it? I can scale it to any size and add a variety of things to meet your ideas. If...

    Madagascar Biome Project

Whatever I can do to help, I love nepenthes and love to help others with it, they are such cool plants. I've never grown from seed, I feel like its an option, but I'd only do it if I wanted to sell plants, personally, I just try to find my plants cheap, places like predatory plants and pet...

    Vines?

I use local creepers (trumpet creepers) which work amazingly, they are the perfect vine and make it look great. Some are so thick you could probably cut a groove and grow some moss in them, which would look awesome, I mean to do this, but not yet

Have you kept nepenthes before? If not here's a little info from someone who has for years: - You should have some temperature differential between night and day, it's necessary for long term success. While not a huge deal with a lowland pitcher (your N. M. is an example of this), it is very...

    Chameleon Inbound

On the subject of chameleons, I really don't think mine is eating enough. I've seen him eat only one cricket (though I'm pretty sure he's eaten at least one more). He's fairly small, maybe 3 inches, so he probably doesn't need much more than 3-4 a day, I've put feeder cups all over the place...

    Chameleon Inbound

This is his cage, I put some pics here for easy viewing. With the appropriate plumbing, bacteria is generally a simple problem (I do reef tanks, and I've always used UV to kill algae and bacteria), have a bypass loop for UV filtration, thus killing (almost, but with a few loops all) all...

    Nepenthes (or other CPs...)

I've been keeping Nepenthes for a long time and have a fair collection, I've been thinking of adding some to the free range. Has anyone else done this?

    Chameleon Inbound

Well he hasn't exactly used it at all, I thought he would be a little bigger and was a bit more sure of chameleon's climbing abilities, but he can't traverse some of the large branches. If I had the money and expertise, I'd want to build a little stream and have some tetras in there (maybe...
