My juvenile veiled chameleon used to climb to the ceiling and when he started getting to heavy he would fall into his pothos plant. Scared me to death I was convinced he had mbd but it turned out he was just getting too big to be upside down like that. Baby's can hold themselves upsidedown but...
This is weird my veiled about the same size is doing the same thing. Today is the first time he's ever fallen asleep during the day he's sleeping on my shoulder right now. It sounds crazy but I thought it might have to do with the equinox?
I bought my cham from petco for $30 nose to tail was 4.5". Just handed me a paper on how to care for it and that was that. It's sad when they don't make sure you know what your doing. I did my research, but anyone could walk out with one and not have a clue.
My male veiled had a burn on his tail when I got him. Small dark patch on his tail stays dark colored and looks like one big scale. It gets smaller and smaller as he grows.
Do you have live plants? They work great for keeping humidity. I have a Pothos and some air plants. He eats the Pothos almost everyday. Is this your first chameleon?
Are you kidding?! Google chameleon bite, they most certainly can break skin. I heard majority of chameleons aren't friendly. I got lucky, Rango comes scampering to the door when I come in the room. Stands on his hind legs and reaches out with his "hands". Lol like a baby who wants out of the crib.
My over misting, trying to maintain high humidity all the time made it wet and damp in the cage. The high humidity isn't the issue, the excess water trying to maintain it became a concern.
