    She's digging!!

Quick question....Chloe went back in her laying bin this morning and I've had her cage covered. Should I leave her lights on so as not to disturb her or go ahead and turn them off this evening?? She hasn't come back up to bask and I really don't want to disturb her at all!

    She's digging!!

Thank you! It appears this was a test hole  but her cage is covered now so she has some privacy. She dug a pretty good one but is now back under her basking light.

    She's digging!!

So Chloe's been acting very weird the past few weeks and basically quit eating except for a couple of hornworms. I've been watching her like a hawk, and finally today I get home from work and she's digging!! I'm so excited and very nervous at the same time. Fingers crossed she gets thru this...

It makes me so nervous if she does. I hope she'll lay them and be fine

    Happy birthday to you!

I've been watching her wondering the same thing. I have a laying bin in her enclosure ready when she is. Hopefully she'll find it suitable!

    Happy birthday to you!

My little Chloe is a big 1yr old this month! I wanted to share a pic of her in all her beauty....I have so enjoyed watching her grow and venture out over the past year. Next month marks a year that she joined my little family. ❤ love her! She's so cool

    The horrible wholesale!

Ok, so at my local Petsmart, they have at least a 7month old male veiled in one of those tiny boxes they also sell their babies in. He's been there a couple weeks AT LEAST and it makes me sick every time I see him in there. I've already talked to a "worker" who admitted to not even knowing how...

sooo He might be a SHE!

Your pics haven't shown up on my part so I can only hope you've had good advice. If you have a veiled and can clearly see spurs on the back feet of it...then you have a male. If the back feet are smooth, you have a female

    Finally!! It's a beauty

I totally agree with the initial rule of thumb for newbies, or anyone really. Soft bodied yes, however even with this moth (considering wing span) it was very big and I'm hesitant to feed her another one. She loved it and would not let it go, but I'd feel more comfortable waiting until she's a...

    Finally!! It's a beauty

She loved it but I have to say it made me very nervous and I probably won't give her another one again! She got so excited when she first saw it tho, it was very cool. She's a beast! Lol. I love her face in that last pic too:love:

    Finally!! It's a beauty

After about a month, I FINALLY had a manduca moth emerge. It was huge and awesome, and Chloe just ate it lol! I gave it a day and finally took a chance and put it in her cage. It took her a while to get it down but she would not let it go. With a bit of moth fuzz left on her lip....

    I caught a cricket!

Do you let her hunt them and get her fill on her own? I noticed in this pic you were holding her?

    Crickets in bulk

Ah, thank you. I've heard of both but never really knew the difference in species. Nice to know the banded are easier to raise. (y)
