Why switch to a ceramic heat emitter at night even if the UVB is on/producing light. You shouldn't have any lights on at night, as this will disturb your chameleon's sleep. Use the ceramic heater at night only if it gets really, reallyyyy (below 45 F) cold in your room.
Hi,
I don't own a Cham yet but I've been lurking for quite some time, so take my advice with a grain of salt haha. From my understanding, the mini compacts are less desirable because of the limited area of UVB they produce. Linear tubes seem to be the way to go in order to cover a larger, more...
Thanks! I actually don't own any yet, I've just been lurking and researching for months haha. Hoping for a panther, just waiting to move into a larger place where we can have a room with less traffic for the guy!
I'm in an SF Bay Area apartment that would probably not be happy with roaches...but I still keep dubia. I really do think it's unavoidable unless you want to do crickets. Which, as mentioned, pose a bigger risk of escapees and smell. I think you should try silkworms. As cyberlocc mentioned, they...
I'm not sure how big your branches are but I've seen people use thumbtacks in the ends of the branches and through the screen, corn on the cob style. That does put pressure on the screen though. Dragonstrand sells these cool ledges on their site that allow you to hang all kinds of heavy things.
I keep a pair of White's tree frogs in a planted Vivarium and I love them! They are so so cool. Like Calval said mine are nocturnal, but so am I sort of haha! I hand feed them with tongs and they are ravenous every time, they use their little hands and gobble up everything. Plus, they kind of...
I literally don't even have a Cham yet and am here for research. I only plan on handling mine for necessary cage cleaning and vet purposes. I know bad things happen that can be avoided, and I understand feeling baffled when you see something that can be dangerous yet avoided entirely. I...
