    Swelling of casque and cheeks

It wouldn’t hurt to get her checked out. In my experience after the original RI was treated, he continued to live with it without issue. No real way to tell if it is the same with out getting her checked. Good luck!

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

Cassidy was euthanized on Thursday. Picked him up today and buried him next to Rico, my first cham. I took the cage apart and have decided to take a break from chams for a while. I knew if I didn’t take it apart immediately I’d fill it with another. I miss having a Cham already. I have a bearded...

    Swelling of casque and cheeks

The vet is the only place we’ve received antibiotics. I’d definitely take her for check. In Rico’s case it was air. I have heard other theories and experiences of others saying different. I think a vet is the best bet. Can you post pics?

    Swelling of casque and cheeks

At some point the swollen casque did come back. I did not have it treated again and Rico lived for 3 additional years and passed from an unrelated issue.

    Swelling of casque and cheeks

This was a long time ago but if I remember correctly he was put on a course of antibiotics for respiratory infection. How old is your Cham? I would suggest starting a thread with your husbandry and some pics of your Cham. There are a lot of great staff and participants in this group!

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

Made the tough decision to have Cassidy euthanized tomorrow at noon. Super conflicted about it but his seizures are getting more frequent and syringe feeding and drinking is not sustainable forever. I think it’s time, he is geriatric after all. Watching him wither away is terrible and it...

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

Thank you. I’m not a 100% sure how to do that. Will see if I can figure it out tomorrow. Will continue to update.thanks!

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

So far no. He was off balance on the branch and is now laying on the sheet at the bottom. Eyes open… I’m hoping he falls asleep soon… he has to at some point right? Unless he is sleeping with his eyes open. Definitely think something neurological is going on. The vet office is working on another...

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

I do have a few smaller cages and a smaller plant I will see if I can rig something up!

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

Definitely appreciate the ideas. Very often he is just laying on the bottom of the tanks. I will try some other options when I get home. Every time I’ve tried putting him on a branch in his cage he is very unstable and ends up hanging on his side. I’ll add some plant clippings to the hospital...

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

This is how I put him over night and when he is not in basking set up (tank on the floor in his room with the basking light hanging from a drawer knob) best safest thing I could come up with

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

Yes but he will fall if he is not in the hospital bin. It is in his cage in the plant so should feel similar. I m going to email the vet what’s been going on and share that I think he may have just had a seizure. Wasn’t fast enough to record it but I’ll try if it happens again. Giving water now...

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

I’m not sure? I did disconnect it for the night. Just peeked in on him at 1am and he is fully awake and stumbling around the hospital set up. It’s just so odd that he isn’t sleeping.

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

Oh snap! Really? I will unplug it tonight and see if that changes anything! Thank you

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

Also forgot to add that I have been peeking on him at night and he has his eyes open all night. I mean I’ve peeled at various hours, multiple times, and watching the blink cam… he is not active but his eyes are both open. Not sure what that’s about! No light on his room during night time

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

Thank you!! I did get some cricket powder (the kind for people 🤢😂). I mixed a little teeny bit with water and a little bit of calcium. I left it more watery than pasty and put a few drops in his mouth. He continues to take water that way and looks less dehydrated. I gave him a full day of no...

Thanks everyone! Any thoughts on food for him while he is not eating? Thoughts on grub pie? @JacksJill @Sonny13 @dinomom @elizaann2 @MissSkittles

    Swollen eye with scratch/burn

I sent the vet pics of the syringes they gave me. Turns out the techs gave me the wrong dose .3 instead of .03 and the wrong syringes. Luckily I couldn’t get it into him anyhow! They are going to dose up the correct meds and I’ll pick it up tomorrow. I will ask about that too. I will definitely...
