They usually get darker when they are stressed, mad , or scared. Try to lure him out withh some of his favorite food! Thats what i do. I usually grab a hornworm and my guys go crazy for them. So ill just keep bringing it further away from them, and eventually they climb right out of there cages...

You should definitley get a screen mesh cage, i personally use reptibreeze as it they are very easy to set up and keep clean. They need constant air flow and can develop respritory problems in glass enclosures such as yours. It would be ideal to get a screen mesh cage as soon as possible, and...
