My Diego is a male veiled about a year and a some change old. He's a big boy and has had his on and offs with eating but I think we've found a good pattern that works for him. He has always been aggressive and hates being touched or handled, never got on with hand feeding either but we got to...
He's not down with hand feeding but I continue to feed the crickets greens and berries with calcium. I'll give it another shot though. In the mean time he doesn't appear unhealthy or to have lost anyway weight. I read that it's normal for them to eat less when they get older so I suspected as much.
This is the guy in question, pretty happy and harty looking so I'm not too concerned I just want to know if this is normal behavior, he's about 9 months I believe.
I use to feed my male veiled 7 to 9 large crickets a day and a few worms, either small to medium horn worms or super worms, along with some greens or berries which he never touched but I gave him the option. And yes, all the supplements, every day calcium, calcium w d3 and multivitamin every...
it was a little stressful for him to be moved out of his old home but once I got him in his new set up filled with some of his old plants and his favorite treats he set out on the hunt and got very green and happy looking :). You can tell he's stressed in the pics from the puffed out throat and...
My baby Diego is no longer a baby and needs and enclosure upgrade. He was only about 3 to 5 inches when I got him and eating very small horn worms and pinhead crickets and my 18x 12x 20 enclosure was just perfect for him. I knew I'd have to upgrade in a matter of months and it is definitely...
That picture isn't usually how i feed him. I can see what you mean by the way it looks. hes larger than he appears in the picture because hes actually about 5 inches away. the angle is misleading. he does have a very wide cage and much of an escape route to his right. I wouldn't corner him with...
I appreciate the advice, it makes me feel a little better that it's not just my veil that's sassy. I mean all in all, as long as he's healthy and has a nice home I'm good. My next Cham will be a panther I'm sure but currently I have no space for another Cham cage at the moment.
This is what I get.... That's a peice of banan btw, I usually try bugs but he's not into fruits and veggies yet so I'm trying to introduce some, I thought if he smelled it he may like it.
do you think if I can get him to crawl on me again I could try feeding him by hand once he's out and calmed down? I just hate to stress my poor little guy out.
So, I've had my male veiled for about a month and a half, he's healthy, eating well and growing very quickly. He's already double the size from when I got him, brighter and stronger looking. Now, I've tried feeding him by hand about every other day. I feed him in the morning before I go to work...
I have a juvenile veiled chameleon, male, his names Diego. I currently feed him between 6 and 12 crickets a day depending on size. I also give him a few horn worms and he gobbles them up. I know he needs more and I always offer a dish of various fruits and veggies also dried fruit flys and...
