    screen climbing prevention ?

I attached branches and long thin pieces of wood to the inside of the cage so he has something to grab onto other than the mesh. Hot glue was a lifesaver when putting together my cage.

    Cham not pooping? /:

He is about 9-10 months. He actually just had two sperm plugs come out, then took a good sized poop but it looked pretty unhealthy. It was in pieces, had some orange, and was very drippy. Hopefully that is the first step to getting his system clear of whatever got him backed up.

    Cham not pooping? /:

My panther usually has a healthy poop about the size of my finger every two days or so, and he only went once last week, and this week he has had two very small poops. His basking spot is around 85-95 depending on the temperature outside that day. He has a dripper always going and I mist his...

    help! - signs of RI?

First, it's a good sign that he's drinking water! For the sneeze, it depends on the way it happened. If he just blew out a little air like a puufff, then that's probably nothing to worry about. If it sounds more like an actual sneeze rather than a puff, and he seems to put his whole body into...

    Can I paint the cage?

I just got a new cage in the mail for my panther, and I was wondering if it would be safe for me to spray paint it? Has anyone done this before? I wanna make sure it would be safe for my cham. I would let it dry and air out before I put him in there of course.

    Outside enclosure in Georgia

If the temperature and humidity stay relatively the same as when the cage was inside, you should be fine. Any drastic changes in the temp/humidity could effect his stress levels and health.

Why did all my crickets die??

They did come in a plastic bag, maybe I left them in there for too long! I tried ordering crickets online, but it turned out to be a hassle and it was more expensive. Maybe I will look into breeding my own. Thanks!

Handfeeding Tips n Tricks Getting more comfortable

It sounds like you are doing everything well! To hand feed I would put a worm or roach into a cup and holding the cup below my chameleon, and this seemed to work well. Eventually I was able to hold a worm in my palm and he would take it out of my hand. He is now very friendly, and loves coming...

Why did all my crickets die??

I can't imagine they all died overnight from getting old, but thanks! The pet store is replacing them for me, so we'll see if it happens again or not!

You could be safe and get new branches, or just scrub this one really well and bake it.

Why did all my crickets die??

Yesterday I bought about 100 crickets from the pet store I have always gotten them from. I have never had any problems, but this morning I went to feed my cham and every single one of the crickets was dead. They were pretty big, some had wings and some didn't Does anyone know why this would...

    New baby veiled chameleon owner-help

-It is normal for them to feel stressed during their first few days, and it is really important that he has a proper setup, so I would get more vegetation and things for him to climb on as soon as you can. Real plants are best. Check the plant list in the resources section of these forums for...

    Falling Chameleon

My panther is around 9-10 months old, and is very friendly and very active. Lately I've noticed he has been falling/sliding down the sides of the cage while climbing (maybe once a week that I've seen). I know that this can be a sign of MBD, but he shows no other signs of it. I dust his crickets...
