Mine does that before he sheds as well. I can usually tell a shed is coming because his skin looks a little waxy, he opens his mouth a lot, and he's not as hungry.

I can understand that! I can tell (even if some believe that a chameleon doesn't have the emotional complexity for this) that Skittles likes @NERVOUS way better than he likes me.

When our chameleon eats his lobster roaches (and really when he eats anything), he will shoot it, chomp it twice, and then pause with food hanging out of his mouth. Do all chameleons do that? Does anyone know what they are doing when they hold it in their mouth post-chomp? Are they waiting for...
