Glass Terrarium or Aluminum Screen Cage?

Some people think that if your house gets too cold, it's probably better to keep your chameleon in a glass cage rather than a screen so they can be warm enough. My house can get as low as 68 degrees, so is this too cold to have a chameleon in a screen cage? Can't they develop respiratory...

    Got a Tamatave Panther baby!

I was finally able to pick up a Panther cham from my pet store. I think he's going to turn out great, but what do you guys think? Does he look unhealthy? I think he's only three weeks old, so he's got a lot of growing to do. I wish I could put him in a screen cage, but this glass one was...

    Only crickets for panther chameleons?

Thank you for your response, Carol. I think I'll use meal worms as a staple, and pick up 6 days worth of them plus ~15 crickets every week. My mom doesn't like having to house crickets, so I'll just feed them to my cham directly. That and various other stuff I can get my hands on. :)

    Chameleon crossing the border?

This would be my first chameleon, so I would be looking at bringing the enclosure, lights, etc. back with me, so trying to smuggle it isn't even possible. Plus that would be extremely selfish of me to attempt to smuggle a chameleon in. Who knows what would happen to it if it got confiscated...

    Chameleon crossing the border?

Well, seeing as on the way back into Canada, you're talking to Canadian border guards, they shouldn't have a problem as long as you're following Canadian law, right?

    Chameleon crossing the border?

That sucks :( I wish there were more options in Canada. On a government of Canada website, under "Importing or Travelling with pet Amphibians and Reptiles", it says "Amphibians and reptiles (excluding turtles and tortoises) are not regulated under the Health of Animals Regulations (other than...

    Chameleon crossing the border?

I live in BC and might want to go down to Seattle to pick up a panther cham. I'm wondering if any of you know if it's legal to bring a chameleon across the border back into Canada, or even if I would simply need a form. Thanks, Alex

Panther cham breeders in BC or Northern Washington?

Does anyone know of any panther cham breeders or anywhere to get panthers in BC or Northern Washington? Also, could I just take a chameleon across the border? I live in Canada, and if I can find a cham in Washington I want to make sure I'm not smuggling it back into Canada. Thanks :)
