the cage size is 16x16x18 he is only about 2 months, very small...the cage is not located that high off the ground. probally around a foot and a half up.
My cham, 2 month old veiled male for the past couple days keeps going down to the bottom of his cage, walks around then goes back up, but does this a lot. the temp is 80 and 85 in his basking spot humidity 50-70 depending on the time and he is eating drinking and pooping normally, cant figure...
good news....he is doing MUCH better....his colors have brightened, he is eating more, and has gotten bigger (doesnt look so skinny) and is now sleeping normally and not gasping for air as much!
he is looking a little better now, the gross skin has gone and now there is just a black spot where he got the injections, he will need another injection in a week. but he seems to be looking a little better iguess
I took my 2 month old baby veiled cham to the doctor today for a RI. they gave him fluids, vitamin A/D/E injection and Vibramycin injection.....when i got home he seemed to be even worse..he has mucous coming out of his nose and it looks like sticky stuff between his jaw when he open his mouth...
the fogger tube is at the top on the other side of the basking light. i have positioned it so only about half of the moisture coming out enters the cage....the humidity during the day should be at a constant 70-80 now and i turn it off during the night and it goes down to about 40 or 50....is...
i do mist his cage but it only stays at around 70% for 10 mins then it goes to 40%....without the fogger i cant get it up past 70% for an extended peroide of time.
UPDATE: took him to the vet this morning...sure enough has an RI ...the exotic specialist wasn't in so we are going back in the morning. i was told to amp up his humidity and temp until tomorrow to help him overnight. hopefully they can give him meds tomorrow to make him better!
yes i suspect he has a RI. he has been sleeping upright, wheezing and gasping...have a vet appointment in a few hours to make sure he will be okay.
p.s he is very active and eats his mealworms and drinks plenty of water....doesn't care for crickets all that much, weird.
Just got him about 2 weeks ago...now he's falling asleep right on me! First cham of my own....this sign of trust or was he just really tired?....(about a month and a half old)
My baby veiled chameleon (about a month and a half old) , Comma, has been making these noises when he breaths through his mouth...almost like he is gasping, the last cham I had did this to the day I got him so I returned him but now my new one is doing it also, i have checked the cage...
