I have 3 sides covered, so I spun the viv for a day or two until I can move the setup. He is still stressed, and is sleeping 4 hrs early. Live and learn:)
Not much change today, he is still mad. I am planning on rearranging the room this weekend unless things improve. To much involved to do it on a week day. I have a lot of shelves for mister, fogger etc... Beardy enclosure was built to fit in its location, so the Chameleon is going to be moved.
So today I got a bearded dragon in the mail. His enclosure has been up and lit via timer for a few weeks prior. My vields Viv is about 8-10 ft away. I put the beardy in his enclosure, went away for an hour or so. When I got back I snuck in and noticed my vieled as dark as I have ever seen him...
My vieled with Dubias will only eat the adult males. I have tried every size, and he picks out the adult males will not touch the rest. Tried a couple of days without giving him a choice, and he would rather not eat than take them... Anyone else have a Chameleon so picky?
Any way to get my...
Has anyone used foam panels to cover three sides insted of the shower curtain trick? I am thinking of carving some foam panels to make it look like a mayan ruin, castle, or maybe a tree trunk. may incorporate a reptifogger and led lighting. I mostly worry that they may insulate to well...
Yeah just bought a bunch from Linda. I have horn worms, repti which I believe are phoenix worms, butter worms, and super worms on the way:) I will try to keep the horn worms cooler this batch, but no wine cooler. I read you can use the fridge maybe put them in the fridge during the day and...
Anyone sell small variety packs of feeders? Something like 6 horn worms, 6 stick bugs, 6 mantis etc. Seems if I vary my chameleons diet properly most of the feeders go to waste. No way can I feed him a pod of horn worms before they get to big. Be nice to be able to buy small amounts of treat...
I got him to eat them, but only adult males by hand. Spoiled picky veiled... He prefers junk food horn worms, super worms, and dragon flys are gobbled down in seconds. Silk worms must taste nasty to him he tried one and that is it. I think the main problem with the roaches is that they do not...
I am a newer chameleon owner but this is what worked for me. Mine was doing the same thing when I first got him. This will take time, but it is working for me. I tried the tongs scared the heck out of him. What I did was put his feeding dish close to his favorite hangout spot. I keep a strict...
White is good, that is the urine. He probably is drinking when you are not looking. I am a newer owner myself, and have yet to see my boy drink. Mine freaks if he is near the spot the mister hits when it turns on. I use a monsoon so probably why he runs, more of a sprayer than a mister. You...
My veiled does not seem to like to eat dubia roaches. Any tricks I could try to get him more interested. I have tried giving him the fresh white ones also to no avail. Same with silkworms no interest. He has eaten one of each. He will only take horn worms by hand, he may even dance a jig for...
Mouse glue pad works to catch loose crickets. toss it in a spot near the Chameleon cage in an area where the cricket will likely escape to when you drop it while feeding. I am trying to switch to roaches myself because crickets smell awful, and I do wildlife removal for a living. Skunks smell...
I got a veiled for my son, but pretty much mine:) as he is a 7 year old. He named him Rango, but I call him Jihadist since he treats me like an infidel anytime I have to go in his cage. I did take him out in the sun for a bit today, so maybe some day he will get a different name from me:)
Hi all new to the forums, and new Veiled owner my first chameleon:)
I just built a 24 x 24 x 72 enclosure and am wondering if http://www.lightyourreptiles.com/trblhot524qu1.html is the way to go for lighting? I have plenty of shade spots and a 4 ft umbrella plant taking up the bottom. The...
