Thanks. One baby is on day 2, the other is on day 1. Neither have shown interest in food. The baby that is on day two had quite a bit of yolk sac still attached. The second baby has about an 1/8 inch piece of umbilical left, no sac. They were incubated for 8 months
Thanks for the replies guys. Here is a picture of the eggs. Not candling again because I want to leave them alone for at least a week before I candle again.
Thanks, I found that post a while ago but never noticed the "windows" judging by what I see, mine are somewhere between the 1 month from hatching and any day now photos. bottom of the egg still isn't completely opaque but it's getting there.
Perfect! Although I'm a little disappointed that I may still have another 2 months to wait lol. But I suppose I'll just have to wait... and wait some more. Their enclosure has been finished for a couple of weeks now.
Thanks! It would be really quite unfortunate if I've waited impatiently for six months, only to have them hatch in the 4 day window in which I am not home.
As I said in my original post, veiled, since february.
And at about 76-79 degrees.
No the egg didn't rock. I was candling and saw distinct movement from 2 little dark spots in the egg (assuming paws)
The eggs look to be about half full.
Hey guys,
I apologize if this subject has been covered in other threads but after doing quite a bit of research I couldn't find the answer to this question.
While candling my veiled eggs (have been incubating since february) I noticed one little dude/dudette moving in its egg.
Any idea on a...
From what I've heard, both systems are equally good. The difference is 25$ more for the aquazamp reservoir. Which is a bucket. Which costs 5$ at a hardware store.
Just out of curiosity, what size crickets do you feed to your just hatched veileds?
Some people say pinhead all the way up to 1/4 inch. Seems like quite a difference to me.
Very jealous. I love ackies. They are unfortunately illegal in my province even though black throats and savannahs aren't... crazy logic up here I tell you. Green tree pythons aren't legal but emerald tree boas are...
Do you find them to be smart?
Why is it so hard to find decent uvb bulbs?! Mine is the exo - terra repti-glo 5.0 bulb. I will definitely be keeping an eye out (no pun intended) for any eye issues with the babies. At the first sign of trouble you can be sure I'll be switching it out asap and writing angry letters to the...
The bulb is currently being used on a 12 hour on 12 hour off cycle. It will have been in use for 1.5 months by the time the babies hatch (if I'm right about them being a month away). According to the manufacturer the bulb should be at least 6 inches away from the basking spot. Which it is. I...
