Hey Friends,
Anyone keep their Cham on an all worm diet? My panther loves worms, butterworms and silkworms especially, and he doesn't eat crickets or roaches very well. Is a mix of butterworms, silkworms, Phoenix worms, and the odd mealworm or two here and there sustainable? Also, he hates...
What's up guys! It's been awhile. Anyway, Captain, my panther chameleon started a shed a few weeks ago, and finished it half way. Or rather, 2/3 of the way. There's a just visible line cutting across his side where new skin starts and old skin ends. It's right behind his front elbows, so his...
My boy managed to bite his own tail while I was cleaning an infection on his back. I've been putting neosporing w/o pain releif on it, but the wound isn't closing up. Is it ok to put a small, butterfly bandage on him to keep it closed? I only ask because I'm not sure if the adhesive is safe for...
Hey all, I've been treating Treecko for a fungal skin infection and he was doing much better until today. The vet gave me chlorhexidine for me to dilute and use to clean it out, and afterwards she said to put any jock itch antifungal cream thinly on it. Today while I was cleaning some of his...
I'm looking into getting a mulberry tree to feed to my silkworms. Will they eat any variety? (White, black, red?) Does it matter if the tree is dwarf or not? Also, do they grow faster on leaves or chow?
As everyone knows, it's always great to get the chams out for some natural sun. My question is, on a cloudy day, is the natural ambient light still beneficial even if they aren't really basking in it?
I've heard a bunch of different sides to this, and can't get a good read on it. Are T5's harmful to chameleons? I know they give off more light and UVB, which is why I'm looking into it, because my cages are a little dark, but I've always kind of noticed this unspoken consensus that T5 tube...
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Ambilobe Panther Chameleon, 19 months old, male, named Captain. Had him since November 30.
Handling - Very little. He is on calcium medicine, and I don't want to stress him more than I have to.
Feeding - He's been on a hunger strike for a few days. Normally...
Yesterday he was working his tongue totally fine. Today Captain seems to be having trouble sticking his tongue to his feeders, and also coming up a little short with his shots (i.e. not shooting far enough). This is a completely sudden onset. Right now his setup/schedule is a bit messed up, as...
I've been working on some art using scratchboards, I haven't tried a chameleon yet because of their lack of fur/feathers, but I might try in the future. I finished an eastern screech owl and snow leopard, and now I'm working on a fox.
This is my new Nosy Mitsio, from Kush lines @ Panther Company. I'm so excited! He's going to be shipped two weeks from now, as I'm going on vacation and I want to be there the entire time he is settling in. Not sure what to name him, but I'm thinking of calling him Oliver Queen, in honor of my...
Hey guys--Captain tested positive for pinworms, and he is on panacur. His first dosage was on the 22nd of January, and his 2nd and last dosage is on february 5. I'm wondering-can I also give him his reptaid while he is on the panacur? I bought it for him because he seemed under the weather, and...
Hey guys, I'm curious to see if anyone has any true nosy bes. Not true blue, but something like an F1 or WC nosey be. Do you know of anyone selling them?
Hey all-
Captain fell to the bottom of his cage a few weeks ago and it seemed like he hurt his foot, he was using it awkwardly. I took him to the vet, and since he could still use his foot properly, even though he wasn't, that it should heal up on its own. However, it is still like that. What...
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Ambilobe Panther Chameleon, 14-15 months old, male, named Captain. Had him since November 30.
Handling - Once a day or less. Once he's out he is totally fine, but he doesn't like my hand in his cage unless I'm feeding him. He also loves showers, so I try to get...
