Here's a pic of Enzo on his first trip outside :) Sun was warm but the air temp wasn't that high, he really loved it - going very dark to absorb as much of the sun as possible and seemed really relaxed.
Managed to buy an artificial 6ft Ficus tree last week and Enzo has been enjoying spending time high up in the leaves and generally avoiding us whenever possible! Here is a shot of him in his new play area :)
The trouble comes when it's time for him to head back to his tank, spent about 30 mins...
Massive progress this Easter weekend with our Enzo. He's been really keen to come out and we've just allowed him to do his thing by leaving the doors open and helping him onto the window sill. When it's been time to go back he's been fine to crawl onto my hand and sit for a few minutes before...
How about offering either waxworms or mealworms if you don't like touching the crickets? We do this and have had some success with Enzo taking mealworms from the palm of our hands. You can drop them onto your hand using tweezers until you get more comfortable.
Had a good day with Enzo today, left the doors open on his tank and he came to the front for a look round, I sat about 2 feet away from him for about 15 minutes and he seemed pretty relaxed. Put a spare plastic plant in front of the tank which he then climbed out onto and spent some time on that...
Well he took a waxworm from my wife's hand this morning which is good news, we are going to make it a regular thing every morning so he associates our hands with good things. Fingers crossed he'll get more comfortable.
Thanks all, we are perhaps being a little to careful in giving him his space. We'd like him to be a cham that can be handled so we are being patient and not pushing him to engage with us.
The hand feeding does seem to work for lots of people so I think this might be our next course of action.
We've had our 4 month old panther cham for a few weeks and we've not really handled him to any great extent, just left him to settle in. He came from a great local breeder so we not concerned about his treatment prior to coming to us. This weekend though we needed to clean his cage a bit and...
Looks great, gives me some ideas to try out over the weekend - we've only had our Cham just over a week so don't want to change much while he is still adjusting but will give the bamboo a go and see how he gets on.
Interesting that you have bamboo canes in your set up, was thinking about adding some for horizontal perches, how does your Cham get on with these? Oh and cool vid!!
We've had our male 4 month old panther for just under a week and until now he's been putting himself to bed in pretty much the same spot at the same time each evening around 6.30pm.
His chosen spot was high up amongst some fake planting about as far away from his basking area as he could get...
We got our Nosy Be x Ambilobe on Wednesday last week from a local breeder and he's been settling in over the last few days with me worrying over him like a new born baby! This morning he appeared out of his usual sleeping perch and I noticed a couple of white spots on his head and back, he seems...
