    Meet Carlos the Chameleon!

I got him at the nearby Petco. I was a little iffy on buying a chameleon from a pet store, but I saw how active he was and seemed to have overall good health from the looks of it so I felt a bit better about it. I'm gonna try and make a vet appointment soon to make sure everything is as it...

    Meet Carlos the Chameleon!

I just wanted to introduce everyone to my new little Veiled male, Carlos! I just got him yesterday, and he seems to have settled in nicely. As soon as I sprayed down his plant, he started drinking like crazy (that's in one of the pictures) and then I managed to get him to eat crickets right...

    My Brand New Baby Boy!!!!!

I'd say as long as you're close by to monitor him, I'd say that is safe. He's beautiful! Congrats. :)

    Possible first time Chameleon owner

I'm actually in the process of getting a cham, so I know where you're coming from. I'm not entirely sure on the behavioral differences between veiled and panthers, just that veiled ones are less expensive so therefore can make it less of a financial burden to start with. As far as night time...

    eggbound dying

You need to take her to the vet ASAP. If she is bound, the vet will have to help her either pass them or surgically remove them.

Are Jean-Luc's legs still looking normal?

He looks pretty healthy to me. If he keeps fussing about food or just flat-out stops eating, I would recommend going and seeing a vet to see if there isn't an underlying issue, such as internal parasites. Just keep on trying to feed him a variety of bugs. If he's hungry enough, he'll eat them...

    Moths.

They can, but it's not a very good idea to feed insects found in the wild for the simple risk of exposure to toxic chemicals like pesticides and fertilizers. If they ingest those, it can make them really sick or even worse.. :/ If you're looking for a treat, you can try mealworms or hornworms.

    Any helpful tidbits?

That's definitely high on my priority list. I actually ordered one of my turtles through an online breeder, and he's perfect. I'm hoping to find the same such luck with these little guys! Thanks so much. :)

    Any helpful tidbits?

Thanks so much! My dad is actually really good at making things like this, so I think I'm going to have him help me build one. We built a cage a couple years back that I use to raise butterflies and could use for this, except the screen is made from material that would melt. Thanks for the...

    Veiled Chameleon help??

I was at the pet store today looking at chameleons and saw this little one. The store had just gotten them in a couple of hours before, so they were still getting used to their habitat but seemed very perky and healthy. One was a definite female, but I'm fairly certain this one is a boy. The...

    Any helpful tidbits?

I live in Ohio. And that's what I had read about others doing. I also raise baby chicks from time to time and do the same thing for them, so I guess same principle's apply in regards to a safety net. And there's one thing I was wondering about - feeders! I've read a lot of mixed opinions on...

    Any helpful tidbits?

Hello, everyone!!! I'm used to the world of turtles, but have recently found myself wanting to try my hand at a chameleon, probably a veiled. I've done a crazy amount of research as far as the basic husbandry and upkeep of them, including lighting, feeding, etc. I was just wondering if anyone...
