    Christmas wish list!

For the Holidays, I would like my screen cage and other accessories to finally arrive so I can get my cham habitat set up and running. Then, I can order my Panther and pray that he will be sent before it gets too cold here.

    Security of cham screen cages.

From my experience back in the day with keeping snakes in glass enclosures with screened lids, if you don't have the cham in a separate room with a securable door, I would get rid of the cat.

    Red Night time bulb

If heat at night is needed you could buy a ceramic heat emitter (CHE) which screws in the same dome fixtures like normal light bulbs. CHEs emit infrared heat but no light.

In for a bad winter, advice?

Have you ever tried to set up a romantic night and lit a few candles? They heat up a room quickly. In a pinch, I've used candles to heat my snake room when the power went out. Just cover the cages to block out the light if necessary. May be a low tech alternative.

    A "Cham-Interested" Snake Keeper's Venture

FlChamMom thank you. Jim Flaherty/The Chameleon Company is holding an Ambilobe for us. He has been great with responding to our emails. I understand the chams are more display/hands-off pets. That's the same reputation that my arboreal snakes have.

    A "Cham-Interested" Snake Keeper's Venture

I was inspired to start a blog, with pictures, about my venture into keeping chameleons. This will be a three part act. Act 1: Pre-ownership Knowledge Acquisition; Act 2: Cage Set Up; and Act 3: Chameleon Reception and Introduction. As stated in a previous post (and in this Subject Line), I keep...
