I had only thought about a porcelain heat emitter not pads. I have a large free range based outta a re-purposed wooden hutch, don't think pads would even work. The fixtures all hang from the ceiling. I hate the danger factor of the heat lamp just trying to think of better way I guess
This kinda brings up a question I've been thinking about a bit, does the metabolic system start from the heat of the basking light or the hot spot it creates, could you have a heat emitter without the light for basking? I have a 48" double housing w uvb and a 6500 ultra sun with a 100 watt...
If you don't mind me asking, what happened? I just started ordering from Mulberry, silkies and horns and they seem to get my sizes and delivery correct, and I order the "postage paid" packages and they've been on time and seem perfect.
Okay, thanks for the input. I didn't see him eat one he just had that caught with your hand in the cookie jar look going on and they were everywhere! Watching him, seems to be acting normally, always find something wrong tho, so paranoid!
try mulberry farms, they are great! Check the "postage included" section down and on the left of the web site. You can even ask for a particular size. Great deals, healthy feeders, and quick delivery! I just got a cup of 1-1/2 inch silkies today and have green and yellow horn worms on the way.
I'm sorry youre having trouble! You should probably reconsider getting another pet if your prime concern is the 200 "down the tube" I think you'll find most forum users love our chams and any other pets as part of the family. I'm a firm believer if you cant properly care for the animal you...
Very true, you cant stop them from wandering. My guy comes down a few times a day just to check things out in his room then back he goes. If you make sure he has everything he needs he will return. Maybe not in any sort of timely fashion, mine was gone for three days a few months ago, and I...
I have watered my cham the same way since I got him, shower every morning with me and then a full little dripper going on his hibiscus about every second till it drips out, usually drips for the whole day and a nice outside mist when I get home. Sometimes his urate is yellowish and sometimes its...

I don't know too much.. hopefully a vet will chime in. From what I have read and seen, it is a long battle rehabilitating a progressed case of mbd. Don't give up tho! Iv'e seen really bad cases make a come back!
......your little guy has pretty substantial MBD, you've got to get him to a vet and start a treatment plan!....... for some reason I didnt see that that was an older thread! Thank goodness you took him in, nice work! Thats a pretty sweet name also!
He seems to come down his hibiscus and down his little latter and does a lap round the enclosure and back up about three times a day, think hes checkin his territory out, seems content tho!
Thoughts on cup feeding? I feel like its not very stimulating.. I tried hand feeding but the amount he...
I agree, as close to natural as we can replicate is best! You can get a nice looking dual t8 at home depot any size for under 15, I just got a very nice dual 48" for $13, if you get creative with mounting you cant even see the housing
