What about microwaving the moss....? That will kill any critters... Obviusly the moss will die.. Thats what i do with all of my pieces of bark I use in both my veileds and my monitors set up.. Worth a try,,, unless anyone can think of a reason why not...

Personally, I think a waterbowl is fine within the enclosure.. Clean the water out regularly I also have a simple aquarium air stone in the bowl Remember also when cleaning the bowl out, use a recognised Herp disinfectant

Put a water bowl in his viv.. He will more often than not use that to deficate in.. It will float around for a while.. He'll get used to that and will prevent defication when he's roaming your house.. Chameleon toilet smells bad and will stain clothing and other material.. K

I also had a similar experience with my veiled not shedding on his head... The casque on mine built up to several layer of skin, until It finally started to break off.. It should be fine, give it time.. Plenty of misting.. Oh and use warm water..
