    baby veiled chameleon rescue

Maybe try to mix up their feeders? I had two cham brothers, one who grew to a whopping 180g and one that was lucky to break 90g. He would have stayed tiny but I began offering different bugs as much as possible and his weight really took off. I can see one or two per clutch being the runts but...

    Sneezing?

What I found strange - and that worried me the first couple times I heard it, was my panther making a sneezing noise as well...It would only happen when I took him out of the cage or when I was roaming around my cham room. He's never hissed, or has been upset with me, but I've found that this...

Veiled Biting ends of leaves what the..??

The only one of our chams that likes to eat leaves is our veiled. A good idea may be to offer him some safe greens. Collard could be a good one to start with, do some research about others you could try. Collard greens should be used sparingly so if he eats a bunch make sure to switch it up!

Took a couple hours, but my boy has the hang of free ranging :) (pics)

Hi! I actually know someone that had trouble keeping a cham on their free range, I'm sure you've tried a lot of things, but what worked was using something like those big cardboard display boards used for school projects, or just regular cardboard haha! She put it on the ground standing up...

Took a couple hours, but my boy has the hang of free ranging :) (pics)

Will do! I won't keep him on for long, I just think it's a huge break through that he's coming out now, he even seems more relaxed outside his cage. In my new place I'm going to have a UVB tube unit set up over a free range for them, for now I'm letting him coem out for 20 minutes here, 20...

Took a couple hours, but my boy has the hang of free ranging :) (pics)

My 8 month old Faly Dexter has been a lot less social than my other cham, so I decided to set up a free-range area for him so he would get more comfortable around people on his own terms! He's been in and out of his cage for the past hour, seems to really like basking by the window! I don't...

Looking to upgrade cage to x-large reptibreeze, do I need a stronger UVB light? (pic)

Thank you for the great info ChamMan7, I'll look into those bulbs. Hi Turningdoc, I don't think I've had my cages long enough to notice rust, but thats definitely somethign I do not want, especially in the cage they'll have forever. DIY cages does not ship to canada unfortunately, and I think...

Will reptaid treat a uri in a 5 month old panther?

Okay, that sounds like it needs to be dealt with ASAP. Its just my opinion but I would make an appointment as soon as you can. What area are you in? maybe people passing by to read this thread will be able to give you some vets in your area, I'll take a peek too.

Looking to upgrade cage to x-large reptibreeze, do I need a stronger UVB light? (pic)

Okay I will invest in linear bulbs for them, what do you mean high output bulbs? What bulb would you suggest? They sound great... My plants would love them too aha

Looking to upgrade cage to x-large reptibreeze, do I need a stronger UVB light? (pic)

What does 12% mean exactly? is 5.0 & 10.0 percentages? (sorry if thats a silly question). Considering the larger cage, would a tube bulb be more effective? How far under the light is your highest UVB basking point? I definitely don't want to cause them any issues. Thank you for your input.

Will reptaid treat a uri in a 5 month old panther?

URI's can turn from bad to worse within a couple hours, what kind of signs are you seeing? You can use reptaid on him, the bottle has different amounts for how much he weighs, its not by age. I do have experience using Rept-aid, my 6/mo panther had a "popping" noise coming from him when he...

Looking to upgrade cage to x-large reptibreeze, do I need a stronger UVB light? (pic)

Hello, Recently my two chams have become very restless in their medium reptibreeze cages, and they're getting to that age where they need more room! Right now, both have a coil 5.0 UVB light and a 60W housebulb for basking (will lower wattage for Summer). Should I consider getting a 10.0...

Chameleons are extremely restless and eating less, could this be puberty? help!

Hello! I've been having great success with my two male chameleons, one is almost 8 months old and one is almost 6 months old. I've had the older one since 3 months old and the other one since a tiny 6 weeks old! Recently, the older male has been bobbing his head at my younger male, which I...
