    Panther cricket gutload

I used to own a Jackson chameleon and had a specific diet for the gutload on his crickets. Any suggestions for panthers? One of the major products I used was seaweed powder or spirulina as a source of protein and turnip greens as a source of calcium. Any thoughts?

    Raising Crickets

If breeding crickets, would it be okay to raise them on dogfood until a few days to a week before feeding them to your chameleon then switch up to the more nutritional gutload?

    Babies Won't Eat!!!

My Jackson just gave birth to 13 babies on Tuesday (4 days ago) and I've been trying to feed them everyday. I unleash a ton of fruit flies but they mostly fall to the bottom and the ones that do run by the babies don't seem to get eaten up I spray them at least 3 times a day and have a constant...

    In Labor!!!

Yep!!! I had it on the calendar that they mated on the 25th of August. So it only took around 5 1/2 months before she gave birth. I didn't even have them together that long either.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Now the fun part. Keeping them healthy and happy and well fed. Any suggestions to feed them other than fruitflies?

    In Labor!!!

Yup!!! That was the first thing I did. I waited a little while (a couple of hours after seeing the first dozen came out. There were about 8 that didn't make it. I'm glad I waited though because she wasn't quite done yet. It has been about 4 hours now and she hasn't let out any so I figure I'm...

    In Labor!!!

My Jackson Chameleon just gave birth to 13 new babies. The babies won't eat though. I have fruit flies in a screen cage with them but they are all hanging upside down. It seems as though they want the heat. It's 78 in the warm spot and about 72 in the cool spot. the cage is 18"X18"X24". Is this...

Having problems getting my chameleon to eat on his own.

I've had my chameleon for a couple of months now. Less and less do I see him eating on his own. I put at least 3-4 crickets in a day. The crickets crawl up the cage and he has an interest but loses interest once the crickets make it to the top of the cage. The crickets just congregate near his...

When breeding feeder crickets what to feed them?

I am trying to breed crickets to feed my 2 jackson chameleons. What should I feed them? I was thinking the gut load, but this seems like it would be really expensive since I make my own gutload using the following recipe: 2 cups or ¼ box dry milk (8 quart size) 1 cup or ¼ box rice baby...

    How resilient are Jackson's Chameleons?

Thanks for the info Yeah! I helped her up to a branch and she hung out there for the rest of the day. By the next morning she made her way back to the top to bask. She looks fairly good in her movements too. Thanks for the comments. I'ts a relief to know from others who have been there. fuellass

    How resilient are Jackson's Chameleons?

Today my female jackson chameleon fell about a foot onto some wood then another 6-8 inchers to the bottom of the cage. She seemed to be ok but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and if chameleons tolerate falls like that well. fuellass
