I do 4 times a day... starting about half hour afters she "crawls out of bed" for 15 minutes... then the rest are on average 4-5 minutes. Realizing you are going to need some good drainage if you're going to mist for longer periods. With my cycle everything dries out completely before the next...
I can only speak from experience with my chameleon and say as soon as her light goes off she's out like a light. Not even the tv seems to wake her up. As for the light ill often cover it at night with a light towel just to give her a little more privacy if the lights going to be on for a while...
Hey guys!
I'll get on the picture taking shortly just getting in from work. I should have mentioned she doesn't get fed on saturday and sunday most weeks. For the most part she is fed crickets but when she is fed superworms I usually give her 3-4 but I will reduce that number to 1-2? She...
My female veiled has been acting strange lately. She doesn't seem to be eating much (I don't tend to feed her too much in the first place, usually 5-6 crickets or 3-4 superworms). Shes about 9 months old now and I've noticed her puffing up for no reason at all in her cage until she sees me...
If you buy them smaller in size and let them get bigger its a much better deal than buying them individually. It works out to about 4 cents per cricket when you buy 300 rather than 10-11 cents individually. It adds up fast!
What kind of panthers would yield the more impressive prices for babies? I'm considering a panther with the intention of eventually breeding them in a year or so and hadn't yet come across this yet! Always so much to learn about these little creatures.
When I bring my chameleon home for the long weekend I put her in a smaller cage with some branches that she can climb on and usually cover her with a towel so she just sleeps the whole way. I find timing it so that when you get to your destination you can either put her basking bulb on for the...
I'm going to take a stab at this one,
From what I have read a good supplement schedule is:
Every feeding dust with calcium WITHOUT D3
Once every two weeks dust with Calcium WITH D3
And every two weeks dust with a multivitamin
EDIT: Didn't read that it was for a Jackson...Apologies!
So I've been reading a few things about the life expectancy of a male vs female veiled chameleon. I've read things ranging from 2 to 6 years or so. So I'm curious and have two questions! How old was your oldest veiled OR if this is your first female veiled how old is she now?
I've read about this idea before but have read conflicting things about bacteria growing with the high temperatures when using the heater. Have you had any problems so far?
A couple questions regarding panther chameleons. I am hoping to get a pair of them eventually but I got to thinking... what is the reason for them to be so expensive compared to veileds? I realize veils are more common and such but is this the only reason? I'm not sure what they are in the US...
Why thank you! :)
I've always wanted a chameleon, I started out with geckos years ago and finally decided I'd get a chameleon. Now I can see myself having 2-3 of the lil guys! There's just something about them!
