    Panther Chameleon HIND LEG PARALYSES

I agree. I posted about my cham having trouble with moving his back legs. My cham is pretty much recovered now. He had sperm plugs and his legs started recovering as soon as we removed them. The stupid vet didn't notice the massive sperm plugs, people on this forum did when I posted pics of his...

    Panthers & veg

I just offered my Panther a tiny bit of carrot and he ate it. I know Panthers don't usually eat fruit and veg but is it SAFE for them if they do like it?

Help! Chameleon on ground not moving

I know this is an old thread but I want to know what happened to this chameleon because the same sort of thing happened to my cham! He fell in August and ever since his back bends slightly to the left and he has trouble positioning left his back leg. Now I have to keep him in a small box so he...

    Poorly chameleon (with PICS)

Ah wow thanks, that's reassuring! Hope your cham makes a full recovery. I was told that back injuries do take a long while for chams to get over. Yes he had 2 nasty sperm plugs. I pulled them out gently, was no problem getting them out. Edit - He's eating by himself!!!

    Poorly chameleon (with PICS)

I sorted out his vent before I went to bed. If I didn't come on here and talk to you guys who knows how long he'd have been like that for. Thanks again!

    Poorly chameleon (with PICS)

Thanks for the link Pure. Yeah I see his vet is actually listed on the website. He's actually the only vet listed in my area! Looking on the internet it seems like this particular vet has good reviews from beardie owners and other species, not chams. Just to update, Calvin's right back leg...

    Poorly chameleon (with PICS)

Yeah he's shedding at the mo which just adds to his misery!

    Poorly chameleon (with PICS)

Vet reckons it's not MBD as no fractures and jaw is normal. I saw him fall from the top of his 6ft cage so vet reckons he hurt his back. But I understand chameleons don't fall unless there's an underlying problem. Symptoms - constipated, dry vent (see pic), won't eat or drink on own, back...

    Ill chameleon - yellow gums?

Ok so I have Calcium without D3 and I'm going to buy Calcium with D3. Can anyone from the UK (or elsewhere, if you know!) help me with which multivit supplement to buy! Thanks v much. What about Nutrobal?

    Ill chameleon - yellow gums?

Thanks. Just to update, Calvin went back to the vet yesterday and I told him what you guys suggested. He says he knows chameleons can have yellow mouths but Calvin's was a lot more yellow than normal. And he said Calvin does not have the symptoms of MBD, which is what I thought. He doesn't...

    Ill chameleon - yellow gums?

Yes I did think that he must be getting stressed out, but I don't want him to starve to death, so what else can I do. :( We have Komodo cricket dust powder. So do I need another tub with Calcium and D3 (if so can I get Zoo Med Reptivite?), and then what other tub do I need? Please reply ASAP...

    Ill chameleon - yellow gums?

His bulb last got changed this year so that's alright. Thanks for the help. I will discuss MBD with his vet.

    Ill chameleon - yellow gums?

Yep I have a UVB light. The cage was outside, the chameleon wasn't. I don't take him outside unless it is a scorching hot day (I am in the UK so that's like once a year!). I have just ran out of the tub of vitamin supplements and I can't find the same tub anywhere so I'll be changing that...

Will this stress my chameleon out?

I don't think my chameleon even realises my dog is an animal. He sometimes climbs on her when he's having a run about on the floor.. so I have to be careful, even though she's a big softie, she could get up and crush him.

    Ill chameleon - yellow gums?

:p that photo is brilliant! His mouth definitely is normal then (apart from the rot). Our next vet visit isn't until next week but I'm going to clear that up. Sort of feel like he should have known that but I guess there are some things that vets get wrong. He stopped eating a month to a couple...

    What are your chameleons names?

I got my chameleon when I was 17 and called him Calvin :D

    Ill chameleon - yellow gums?

My Sambava Panther Calvin (2 years) has seen the vet 3 times now but I really don't think he is gonna live. He has improved in that he is starting to go colourful again and is not so lethargic but his black legs still do not work and he won't eat (I have some prescribed food for him and I've...

    significant other shares interest

I don't have a boyfriend but my family don't really share my interest. They'll all hold the chameleon but they cannot stand when a cricket escapes. I try to tell them I can't help it, it isn't that I'm not being careful and it happens to all rep owners - crickets are little buggers. They...
