After Hermès showed up a bit bigger than I thought, the bioactive cage I made was too small. Had time to run to the greenhouse and pickup some more plants and set up his cage. 18x18x36. Bought a shelving system from menards for 50$, some wood blocks to raise the cages and be able to slide in...
Just got this guy today, due to a Ups screw up he arrived today instead of yesterday. Was very cold and got him warmed up asap, seems to be doing good now. But man is he gorgeous, asked for a high yellow/ blue and they delivered. I'll post updates later, but here are a few pics for now
My Oustaleti, ATLAS estimate about 8 months old.
Verrucosus, ICARUS would also estimate between 7-8 months.
Both Wc, but settled in and adapting very well. Working on getting a little fat cap on icarus.
Would love to see more oustaleti owners or verrucosus
Apologies for some past behavior from myself, still learning how to express myself in sobriety, but nevertheless I apologize for being an Ahole. Just hit 2 years Sober and figured I'd get myself something. 2 new cages, all new lighting which I'm still waiting on the rest to show up from LLL...
To start with, this is just my method for keeping Oustaleti, not a how too.
Cage is 4.5ft long, 2ft wide and 43in at its highest. Amazon greenhouse with base combo 120$. Sprayed wood with Olympic waterguard clear 18$, let dry inside and outside over the course of a week. Sprayed 3 coats...
Switching to a greenhouse with planter base. It'll be 36x24x52, need a much larger cage for an Oustaleti. It comes with a liner, and I'm also planning on running a plastic liner under that to prevent moisture buildup in the wood. But my question is the kit recommends using a wood sealant. I'm...
Over the years I've realized, instead of putting your cham in the shower for 1hr to hydrate, especially on new wild caught. A cheap brand new Vicks steam humidifier going into the cage works much better, and much more controlled situation.
Getting back in the game with my favorite species, Furcifer Oustaleti. All live except the zoo med plant and bend a branch. Only thing left is building a fogger, I've learned that the flex hose on the forgers is not great because the ripples hold water and get stagnet. Pvc pipe drilled works...
Still waiting on the plants I ordered from LLL. But happy with it, giving everything in it nice room to grow. The baby loves it. Plan on covering the 3 sides with clear shower curtain to up the humidity a bit. Still have to make a fogger.
Black Friday sale I could not pass up. Been a few years now since I've had this young of a Cham. Kent vent method to me looks male, but I could be wrong. Input from pardalis breeders would be much appreciated. I'd guess 2 to 3 months old.
Shes roughly 10 months old. My brother bought her without providing a proper setup and I think she's growth stunned. She eats like an adult and is super chill but still beautiful. Hates cameras.
Joined the Marines as a Tank Mechanic after college. First cham since being home is a female veiled i got off my brother for free, getting a nosy faly soon. Her name is donnasue. Thinking shes about 4-5 months old.
