Very New Owner - just 4 days

I finally got a good amount of pedialite, reptaboost, baby food in my guy tonight. He opened both eyes and showed some huge improvement. I may be able to even try hand feeding some small crickets very soon. If i stroke the underside of his mouth he opens quite wide for me, not every time but...

Yes, I've been alternating between the baby food applesauce, greenbeans, and chicken. The vet said to not give too much applesauce because the sugar could be too much for him. Ive been trying to get food into him at least 3 times a day because it is such small amounts. The last feeding today was...

I will try the sample and see if I can at least drop it off to them. It would be SUPER if I could get a vet to do a home visit. It would be a full day of rounds for and I could get the whole "zoo" looked at all at once. Ha! He seems to be doing a little better, he is voluntarily opening for the...

I tried, the closest vet is about 45 minutes from here and she was concerned about him making the trip. I sent some pictures and she said with him being so small there wasnt much she could do that all I could do was try to get him to eat. She said he might be 6-8 weeks old. Does that sound...

Very New Owner - just 4 days

Hello all, well we have made it through another few days. Still aren't eating anything but baby food and repta-boost but he's eating a little more each day. His eyes are still tiny slits and he shows no interest in any feeders, not event flightless fruit flies. When I open his enclosure he seems...

Thanks, I spoke with his vet today and she pretty much said the same thing. She didn't think it was wise to bring him in and gave me her suggestions based on my descriptions and images. She thought he is perhaps 6-8 weeks old, she just keep doing what I am doing and hopefully he will come around...

Updating Hello All, my little guy seems to be doing better however, I still have yet to see him eat anything. I have been able to get a little bit of the repti-boost and some baby apple sauce into him but not much at all. Any suggestions on very small food items?

He has one eye completely open, the other is partway open. Tried the mealworm but I think I may be making him a little nervous. I'll get some reptished if I can find a place that is open today. Fishing is big around here so I bet I can find him some other type of feeders.

Does he look like he is getting better? I misted this morning and I think I may have made him a little mad, he gaped and his colors became very intense. Should I take this as a good sign? I figured him showing some emotion was a good thing.

Thank you so much again. I am SO happy I found this place, I don't believe he would have made it to today otherwise. I am hoping he will continue to improve. Thanks so much again!

Okay I will try that. I'm super hesitant to make him gape, he is probably stressed out already and I certainly don't want to make it worse.

Do you recommend trying to help him eat the reptiboost? Or letting him eat on his own? I read in a care sheet (from Jan I think?) that you could brush baby food like applesauce on the leaves to help sustain him. He hasn't eaten any of the mealworms I have provided either. I have to think it's...

I am so happy to hear that somone has experienced this as well. I put a 40 watt bilb in there yesterday and tonight when I misted he opened his eyes (YAAAAAAAY!) I cannot tell you how happy that made me. He has started to get his color back, his green is greener if that makes any sense. I think...

My little guy was at one of those big chain pet places. He was so adorable and my sons begged like champs. Since animals are well loved around here we decided to bring him home. In retrospect I probably should have found a more reputable place but the hope is to help him regain his health :) I...

He has to be very young, so so little! He's got me concerned for sure. He is the newest and youngest baby in our house (read zoo) and so far the most worrisome!

No leaking or tears. His skin around his eyes is clear. I would be so thrilled just to see him eat something. I added some mealworms hoping they would get his attention.

Misting and dripper. I poked a hole in a water bottle and put it above the plants in his enclosure so it drips through the screen. I also have a fogger but the humidity was elevated, using the mist/drip system has been keeping the humidity at around 50%. Yes, the eye closing is concerning...
