I have a 7 - 8 month old female veiled chameleon and I was wondering how much to feed her and how often. Right now I've been feeding her every day. I switched from the small crickets to large ones just the other day. Right now she gets 5 large crickets. Sometimes I throw in meal worms with the...
Thank you. So far she seems much happier than when she was in her small cage. She loves exploring her larger environment. My only worry is that she will get cold being father away from the heat bulb. I put a more powerful bulb in though. I need to get a new thermometer to keep track of the temp...
As someone else said, I used thumbtacks. So far only one has fallen out. They hold up the dowel rods really well.
I got the plants fairly cheap. The small one in front was on sale for $4.95 I think. The larger one in the back was around $11. I just recently took out the small one in the...
Thanks for the tip. I will keep an eye on the lower dowels. Also, thanks for the praise. I'm super happy with how it turned out.
As for a bendy vine connecting them, there is one. It might be hard to see in the pictures, but the vine is bendy and has leaves on it. I thought about putting a...
Yeah, it does a pretty good job with the small crickets. I haven't moved up to large crickets as of yet. Those might escape more easily, although my chameleon is pretty fast getting to the crickets once she sees the container in her cage.
To make the feeder I used a small disposable tupperware...
Thank you!
No, I don't have a laying bin yet. At what age will she start laying? She is around 5 or 6 months old I think. Are there any guides around here as to what kind of specifications are necessary to create a proper laying bin?
I finally got around to setting up a new cage for my veiled chameleon named Cosmo. It took me a while to get around to setting it up because I had trouble finding a stand large enough for a 24x24x48 cage.
I've attached several pictures of the cage, a picture of her feeding bowl, and finally a...
There is a vine going throughout the cage for my cham to climb on. The vine sort of loops around from the top to the bottom. The feeder is sitting on the vine and being held steady by the plant next to it.
Thank you everyone. I first tried the milk carton feeder and it didn't work so well with my cham. She really loves this new feeder though.
Oh and I took the picture. I didn't think it was anything special though, lol. I got a cooler one with her opening her mouth for a cricket, but it ended...
My wife made a feeder for my Chameleon. She took a disposable Tupperware container and hot glued popsicle sticks and a thin dowel rod onto the edges. My chameleon loves it and now she doesn't slip into the feeding container when walking around the edges. Plus the dowel rod in the center gives...
Yeah, you might be right. We actually now kind of think Cosmo might be a girl, but we keep calling Cosmo a boy, lol. I don't see any numbs on the back feet, but I'm not sure how big they are supposed to be or how noticeable they are. Do you have any pictures of what the back feet should look...
I just added a fogger to my baby cham's cage yesterday. He seems to be scared of the fog coming from it though. He gets brown stripes all over his body and puffs up in the corner of the cage while it is running. He doesn't do it all of the time though. I think he does it whenever he gets near...
Thanks and here are the answers to what you wanted me to fill out.
Veiled Chameleon, not sure on the age.
Handling - a couple times so far.
Feeding - I'm feeding the chameleon crickets. I put them in the cage in the morning in a milk carton feeder. I feed the crickets gutloader flakes, I'm...
I just got a very small baby Veiled Chameleon yesterday. I'm not sure on the age, but he is about 2 or 3 inches long from the tip of his nose to the base of his tail, not including the tail of course. I made a milk carton feeder for him last night and put it in his cage this morning. So far he...
