    sleeping chameleons are beautiful

Thank you! I definitely lucked out with him. He's now about 20 months old, he was always a beautiful cham but just recently he's started showing more and more reds and oranges.

    Unusual panther egg laying experience

I believe it was probably due to the substrate being too damp, after I only found one egg in the bin I modified it to drain it a bit and then she laid the rest just fine, so you're probably right

    Unusual panther egg laying experience

Hmm interesting. I think I'm going to set up a camera whenever I'm expecting more clutches so I can review what's going on

    Unusual panther egg laying experience

So my little girl just laid her first clutch of eggs this week, and when I saw that she had been digging and laid eggs, I removed the laying bin and looked frantically for the eggs. I found one actually laid in the bin, several on the floor of the cage, two in her plant pot, and one at the top...

    Late Hatchling

Good thing you left the little one in there! Thats incredible. It'll be interesting to know whether such a long incubation will have any effect on growth or health.

Just when I thought pet store housing was bad enough . . .

It's always upsetting to see the conditions chameleons are kept in at major pet stores, there is one near me that always has pairs of jacksons on display in the tank next to the bearded dragons, which means they're under the same lighting, and getting the same heat and humidity :( I'm a sales...

Habanero update, and ? about bees lol

Well its not that I intentionally fed him the wasp, it just happened to fly by while he was free ranging outside and he snagged it. I'll try to prevent it from happening in the future though.

Habanero update, and ? about bees lol

Well, its been a couple months since I've posted, but habanero is happy as anything, and really starting to color up. He'll be 5 months old on the 23rd!! The pictures dont really do him justice, he shows some really cool blues purples and reds though! Also, I let him free range a bit...

    considering gettting a bearded dragon

I love my bearded dragon, I feed him a staple diet of between 50-75 crickets a day, with calcium every day and herptivite every other day, plus collars greens every day and I alternate squash, carrots, apples, mangos, etc. In with the greens. I have a combo water dish/hide spot that he can soak...

    makeshift enclosure ideas?

I made a makeshift cage out of a 2x6, some duct tape, the front of a tall clock and a window screen lol, here's a pic, took me like half an hour! I needed a temporary enclosure while I worked on my bigger cages. But if you're not in the mood to make something yourself, the aquarium should work...

    New Hatchlings Kinyongia multituberculata

I've struggled with the humidity a bit to be honest, but I can generally keep it around 65-70%, the probe I just hang from a wire loop taped to the inside of the lid! Lol maybe ill do this for my senior research for my bachelors, I should have some chams breeding by then, but by all means feel...

Help Me Please I Dont Know Whats Wrong With Him

Definitely a boy! The first pictures didn't do his coloration justice. If he pulled it back in then I'd say hes probably just fine. Have the muscle spasms and everything stopped since your vet visit and the supplement change?

    Size of Food.

My little guy is only a little older, he's been feeding pretty happily on 1/4 inch crickets, stick insect nymphs and wax moths as hand fed treats, but he is a little intimidated by medium-large crickets. If he doesn't feel comfortable with larger prey yet, just try increasing the quantity :)

    New Hatchlings Kinyongia multituberculata

It's not all that difficult to build, at least for one that served the purposes I needed it for. The only parts I didn't get at home depot were the vacuum/air pump and my handy little humidity/temperature/Barometric pressure probe (of course those are the two most expensive parts lol) ill get...

    chameleon collection additions!

I thought the same thing when I first looked into them, but if its pachira aquatica, which it looks to be, I did a quick Google search which seems to indicate that they are pet safe

    New Hatchlings Kinyongia multituberculata

Hmm..I built an adjustable Barometric pressure chamber for some research I was doing on ticks, ill bet I could modify it to hook up to an incubator to test this...but it'll be a while before I have any eggs lol
