    Egg Binding Questions

This is a newb question...What I've always read and researched is that all female chameleons if not bred, can and usually do, become egg bound. That's what I always read on Veileds, and years ago when I was breeding them, I experienced it. I read other articles that say you have to be...

    greetings, melleri fans

I don't have a microscope, I wish I did though! I know they don't shed all at once, what I meant was, unhealthy, reptiles, or those who have a deficiency in something, can have trouble shedding, and say, in the wild that's more likely, now say, shedding time has come and gone, and some skin...

    MH -vs- HPS -vs- MV

Yeah, typical HIDs are 400w and up because people use'em in whole rooms...But if you go to home depot or lowes, with the lights, they've got lower wattage HIDs, the best I can think of, is if you go look at their "security lights" like the MVs that are mounted outside peoples garages n what not...

    MH -vs- HPS -vs- MV

Well, beings I don't really like Yahoo, I'll post this here, plus there's a lot of others who could chime in. Some of you had discussed Mercury Vapor HIDs...and I started wondering why someone would use those. I'm decently knowledgable in hydroponics/indoor growing, and the typical lights are...

    Jungle Labs "Reptile Xtra"

If you go to the website, there's more info than the video has. I believe, the site instructions recommend using the anti-bacterial first, daily for a week, then moving to the anti-parasite for a week. In my opinion, it sounds like a great product, especially if it does work without doing...

    greetings, melleri fans

Yes...he is nice.....to look at! Ha, He's a grumpy one. He's a WC and I'm not sure, but I think the shedding is that color from incomplete sheds in the wild, I've had him...for *thinks real hard* like 8 months and that was his first shed...sorta, he shed once around the beginning of Feb. it...

    Jungle Labs "Reptile Xtra"

Well, I wrote them through the website and inquired about it and asked if they had future plans on making something similar for insectivorous/carnivorous reptiles such as snakes and chameleons, so maybe I'll get a reply within 24hrs like the site says! ha

    Jungle Labs "Reptile Xtra"

They've got a meal, which I believe is a powder form for dusting greens, couldn't you dust crickets or other insects? Also, what about feeding your crickets pellets, or dusted greens? It could definitely be administered to a cham, but what about the ingredient values and any thoughts on this?

    Jungle Labs "Reptile Xtra"

    Sillkworm Help

I had mine housed in sterlite shelves, staggered open with raised mesh for the frass to fall through. they were in my living room where the ambient temp ranged from 70-80 with night time drops and humidity was lowest at 25% and highest was 41%. I think all of that is well in range, especially...

    Sillkworm Help

The only thing I can really think of, is humidity or bacterial/viral infections, and like I said, the coldest the temp gets in my house where they're at is 70* and the humidity averages 28% I want to try again but I want to make sure I have everything sorted out before hand.

    Sillkworm Help

Yeah, mine died off slowly, but the sludge thing was over night, after a few had died, I had like 4 big ones that I thought were about ready to cocoon so I put'em in a cardboard box, next morning they were little strips of slime. I read 68-85 temp range depending on how fast you want them to...

    Sillkworm Help

I recently purchased some silkworms (two cup fulls) but they all died, I had a setup like what's described/recommended by breeders, kept in drawers with a raised screen bottom for the frass to fall through, fed them once their current food dried, never saw mold or anything but they would end up...

    Cost Efficient+Simplistic-Silkworms?

Hey guys, one other question I forgot to ask, how long is full cycle time? Silkworms are a few months from what I've gathered with having to refrigerate the eggs and what not, what about the roaches? I've also read of some people not doing the cool down for the Silkworm eggs, but also read that...

    Cost Efficient+Simplistic-Silkworms?

Google it, I just did! ha blapticadubia.com came up at the top, along with a lot of others, they sound like a good and easy source to check out...I'm guessing using as a staple diet, you'd let'em eat as much as your cham wants, until he's full, which would depend on the size of the food source...

    Cost Efficient+Simplistic-Silkworms?

Awesome, thanks guys! So I'll check out the silkworms and see how that goes, and maybe check into the roaches too, does anyone know off hand, what the nutritional values are on these two, how they compare? Just curious, if not, I'll look it up, thanks again everyone

    Cost Efficient+Simplistic-Silkworms?

I'm wondering what the easiest insect to breed and keep is, I was considering Silkworms. I'm looking for something that's Easy, Low Odor, Cheap and of Good Nutritional Value. Silkworms seem good, only draw back is you HAVE to buy chow or have access to Mulberry which means you'll be buying...
