Hi,
This is a 7 month old chameleon. Both parents are Ambilobe, father is wild-caught. I'm surprised to see the white colors on the head. Is this common for Ambilobe? In the picture he is aroused by a female.
Thanks,
Francois
Good day to whoever reads!
I know people on the internet say sexing baby vieled is easy because the males have a spur on the back foot... still I find it hard. For example in this picture, can you tell if it is a male or female? They are 5 weeks old.
Thanks!
Francois
Thanks! I've been trying that yesterday. I dig two holes, one in earth, another in sterilized play-sand. She seems to prefer earth. However she does not proceed. Maybe the temperature of the earth is not hot enought. It's at 25-26 Celcius. She comes out after 30 minutes of the hole and goes...
Ah you are right... I bought him at the last reptile trade show, and the next one is in a few days. It must be a bi-yearly reptile show then - I though it was yearly.
The vet has no idea. I didn't pay for the full exam with biopsy and etc. I just took the parasites test - in which nothing came up.
After a couple of days he refused to take his antibiotics, even if I was putting it with his regular food, whenever he detected the presence he would regurgitate...
Hi!
Thanks for reading & helping. She has been bred since 2 months and doesn't look like she have eggs, however she might. She has stopped eating so I moved her to another cage. She restarted drinking, however she doesn't touch any food. She started digging but she is weak.
I think she...
Yes, first time she laid eggs she did have those colors... I didn't remember at first but I went back to look at old pictures and yes she had those... She must be around 2 years old, but I don't know exactly since I'm not the first keeper.
Yes. Here's is a picture dating 22.Jan.2011, it was...
Thanks for your comments everyone!
Thanks! I'm going to buy sand this weekend to possibly mix it with coconut substrate to give her something to dig. It's going to be the second time she's laying eggs, last time was a bit less than one year ago... it was a hard time for her, I thought she...
Hello!
Take a look at the colors of this chameleon.. anyone knows what it means? The orange spots are new.
She has been started to move around her cage pretty actively, wanting to get out, walking around end to end. Maybe she's searching for a male?
Thanks!
I only got it two weeks ago, it already had this a wound under the neck, and another one that looks like a cut on the right hand.
This morning El-Fato (that's how I named him!) seemingly accepted to pose for us showing his wounds (!):
He has two large Exo-Terra ReptiGlo UVB 10.0 lights...
The chameleon asked me for a bigger cage.. so I built one ! :D
It's my first try making a cage.. the next version would have a taller door (will help with plants); and more spacing between the door and the doorframe. It takes two full day of work to build this... and 60$
I got this...
