Well havent posted any pictures of Higgins since last month so here he is at 5+ months old. He's doing really good, starting to really show a lot of orange and reds when he gets fired up. Personality wise he's been great, only once did he open up his mouth and get the red a$$ when he was going...
Here are a couple of pictures of my old 240 gallon reef tank.
I miss the tank but the electric bill was getting scary!
Anyway here's Higgins in all his multicolor glory :)
Higgins is doing good. I've been mixing up his food trying to figure out what bugs he likes to eat. So far silkworms are ok if really small, no dice on dubias (think they were too big). Crickets seem to be the favorite right now.
I let him have a warn shower today and I'm not sure how he liked...
Higgins wasn't eating well the last couple of days and I was getting worried until I saw he was getting ready to shed. It didn't take long to pop off most of his old skin, had little booties on his feet this morning. Love the fresh look he has now. Of course we had to do a little photo shoot...
Congrates on your guy, you'll have to make sure and post tons of pictures. Not sure if mine was from an earlier batch or not? Got him on the 24th of May. Bruce said he was big for his age! Do you know who the mom came from? Bruce said Jake was the mothers daddy of mine.
Thank you for the comments! I did a lot of research before jumping in and buying a Cham. I learned the hard way about 15 years ago with saltwater fish/reef tanks. It ended up costing me a lot of money and I'm sure some fish & coral deaths due to my ignorance. But now I'm hooked and I'm already...
Thanks! He seems to be doing really good. I just installed a mistking so I hope that helps with the low humidity levels I was having (about 26-30%) I also picked up a unfinished oak cabinet and cut out a top piece painted it and now have a nice looking but inexpensive stand that gets the cage...
We received our new Chameleon "Higgins" from Bruce at Chameleon Paradise and I was expecting a pretty small little guy but we received an almost 6" baby/juvenile beautiful and healthy! Bruce sent a bag full of silkworms with Higgins but the worms grew so fast that they were too big and Higgins...
The cage will be moved to a quieter room and placed on a stand to get it off the ground. We have a couple of dogs that could care less about the cage buy I know the cham would be stressed with our fat bulldogs head stareing in, not to mention our 2 tear old.
Thanks, I was really looking for a nicer ficus but they were all wiped out by the hard frosts we had here last winter. I hope it starts to fill in soon. I think the male cham is about 3-4 months old and so far very easy going but I have read about their "teen" years ;)
I imagine explaining to...
Well I've been lurking around and reading like crazy about chameleons for the last 2 months. I've learned quite a bit already and look forward to continuing.
I had found a 11 month male Ambilobe cham on craigslist but the seller flaked out on me after I had purchased a 24 x 24 x 48 cage from...
