    Asher's Progress Thread (56K Warning)

Sorry for the lack of recent update, it's been a little hectic around here. Asher is doing wonderful! He has finally realized that he has a bottom and a top of his cage. For a while he stayed in the middle of his plant all day, but now he is all over the place. It's difficult to get a...

    Asher's Progress Thread (56K Warning)

I'm proud to report that Asher is going through his first shed with us. I do not have any current photos, the battery in my camera is dead and I can't find the charger. He is full of attitude, but will eagerly eat from my hand (tweezers) AND AND AND he eats Dubia!!! I'm so happy because I...

    Asher's Progress Thread (56K Warning)

Well, I'm going to go with the update of "I believe he's feeling better." Asher is now at 90g, up 11g in 6 days, and he was not very happy with me at ALL for weighing him. I feel like my hands are covered with pinholes from him gripping me so tightly and I can honestly say I have never heard...

The REAL part of the hobby...Bug keeping

I have a dubia colony started in my front closet, but they're not breeding all that great, so it will still be a long time before I can begin feeding them off. I will be starting FF cultures soon. Any suggestions? How about a good recipe for media?

    Asher's Progress Thread (56K Warning)

I think it was him playing hard to get for the first couple days, I fall for that dark, mysterious stranger act every time!

    Asher's Progress Thread (56K Warning)

Ok, so tonight he ate a superworm from my hand, errrr from my tweezers... YAY! He's up to 86g tonight and I have some updated pictures. He looks like a whole new guy already and the skeleton look is almost entirely gone. Have I mentioned that he has completely stolen my heart?

    Asher's Progress Thread (56K Warning)

Thanks for the kind words everyone. His face and casque is still skeleton like, sucken in, but it's not as bad as it was and his body has definitely filled out some. I really wish the sun would come back to us here so I could get him outside for a bit.

    Asher's Progress Thread (56K Warning)

I was taking some pictures of Asher and the others last night and when going through them I found this one. He's finally sleeping higher up in the cage and in spots where I'm actually able to find him easily. Instead of rocking sideways of the edge of his branches to be sneaky and hide, he...

    Crowned Chameleon?

I cannot stop looking at that picture. It's soooo green, like a pretty little emerald.... my precious. Ok, sorry, had a moment. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

    Which one would you choose??

I would go with the little one. It would be like Christmas every morning just waiting for them colors to show!

    Crowned Chameleon?

Gorgeous little thing, love the green and that is almost exactly what the store cham looked like. Maybe I'll add that one to the "Someday List"

    Crowned Chameleon?

I was at the LPS buying more feeders and there was a cham called a Crowned. They were not confusing it with a veiled as they had two veileds also, but a google search has turned up nothing. I have to say it was pretty, almost a dark olive color all over, no coloration aside or markings that I...

I was able to get Asher on the scale today even though he was a bit shy about it. 79g

I will be taking him to the vet. I want to get him rehydrated the best I am able to before stressing him more.

    Asher's Progress Thread (56K Warning)

Well I suppose my decision was partially based on the fact that crested geckos are a beginner reptile. My 11 and 7 year olds take care of their own all by themselves, so I'm praying I didn't give him more credit than they deserve. They went with at least 3 months worth of food and, as I...

    Asher's Progress Thread (56K Warning)

I also traded him for some crocodile geckos that are in very good health as far as I can tell. That is the only reason I went ahead with the trade. The guy was pretty young, living with his girlfriend and I just do not think they knew how to take care of him properly.
