Sauron, one of my male Rieppeleon brevicaudatus

Thanks! Sauron has the best coloration out of any of my males- he displays greens, oranges, and yellows on a brown background. I have him paired with my female with the best coloration, Red.

    New brev eggs

I'm trying to build up a sizable number of breeders so I can keep a steady level of production... I get a lot of people asking about these critters! I plan on working with this species for a long time, though- they really are awesome!

Took some pics of a brev I hatched out in September today. So adorable. :]

    New brev eggs

I've incubated 5 clutches prior to this, and have been successful with raising up the babies, so it's starting to become second nature. I always get excited excavating the eggs though!

    New brev eggs

Pulled two clutches of brev eggs tonight, a clutch of 4 and a clutch of 6. Thought I would post a picture of the clutch of 6. A great Christmas/Hanukkah present!

    pygmy chmeleon food

1/4 inch crickets are best suited for pygmies, and make sure you dust them with a calcium and vitamin supplement (Repashy Calcium Plus ICB works well). My pygmies will also eat D. hydei fruit flies on occasion, as well as bean beetles, rice flour beetles, house flies, and wax moths. If you can...

    New clutch of baby brevs

Thankfully, I can say that I have been having success with them. You need a very gentle touch, a lot of patience, and close attention to small details. Just trying to increase the size of my breeding colony right now.

    New clutch of baby brevs

Night time temperature drops seemed to do the trick for me (among other things)- I got eggs out of them a month after I moved them into my basement. Their color, behavior, and appetite also improved once I moved them into the basement. A very well-planted tank is also essential so that you can...

    New clutch of baby brevs

Thanks! This is the fifth clutch for me, and the last egg is hatching right now. Have another clutch incubating, and I think the female is gravid again. And yes, they are tiny when they hatch out.

    Sexing a young R. brevicaudatus

Thanks! That was my initial guess, as this individual acts a lot like the other males. I was just unsure since the other male babies have longer tails, more serrated dorsa, and much more distinct, darker patterns.

    Sexing a young R. brevicaudatus

They are very cute. This one is from the first clutch I hatched out, and the female that is producing for me is gravid with her sixth clutch this season. I'm holding a lot of babies back for breeding since Tanzania shut down export.

    Sexing a young R. brevicaudatus

I have a 3 month old Bearded Pygmy Chameleon that I hatched out which I am having a little bit of difficulty sexing. I have an idea of the possible sex, but I would like some input from some experienced keepers. All of the other babies I have hatched out are fairly obviously male or female...

Need a second opinion in sexing my R. brevicaudatus

Thanks everyone for the help with sexing. I'm familiar with all of the sexually dimorphic characteristics in brevs, but I sometimes have trouble. The one I was most unsure of was the second one pictured. I'm trying to get a breeding project started with these little buggers. These guys really...

Need a second opinion in sexing my R. brevicaudatus

Hello, still fairly new to the site. I know this type of post may be very familiar to some of you, but I have 4 R. brevicaudatus, currently housed in separate tanks. I have some idea what sex each of them is, but I would greatly appreciate some confirmation from hobbyists with more experience...

    Gravid R. brevicaudatus

Hello all, I have 3 gravid female R. brevicaudatus, one of which is very wide right now. I have seen two of them digging in their substrate (all are housed separately), and the third has obviously been digging around as well (I just haven't caught her in the act yet). Is this a sign that they...
