Well, after taking 1 1/2 years off from hatching Parson’s, I’m back at it. I really needed a break not only from the crazy amount of work that entails but also the constant stream of messages and conversations that comes with it.
I’ve pretty much had baby/juvenile Parson’s since I first hatched...
Congratulations on the 10 year anniversary Bill! You been providing valuable chameleon husbandry information for many years and Chameleon Academy is a fantastic resource. I’m always telling people to checking it out for some of the best information.
Glad you decided not to do surgery. Give her time, she may well make a full recovery. She really needs to put on weight.
I’d remove all food from her cage and hand feed for a while.
I’m always worried when someone says “take your chameleon to the vet” so many vets have no clue about chameleons. I’d be more worried about antibiotics and pain meds for a thermal burn. Panacur is pretty dang safe but on top of other things, I think you have a right to be concerned.
Silvadene...
Woo hoo! Thanks to those who voted for the Lorax. He’s 6 years old, captive bred and lives outside 24/7. He’s also one of my favorites. Congrats to the other winners too.
If that video is from the Chester Zoo, I actually helped them with the incubation and whatnot with their first clutch that they hatched. There was some discussion of the female in this video was actually a OE.
I think the fact that the previous female died like that has nothing to do with...
This is one of the most intelligent things that I’ve read in the chameleon community in a long time.
I’ve thought about this a bunch and totally agree with what you’re saying here Micheal.
I think it’s important to think about the trends in chameleon husbandry and how they would actually...
Thanks! Well he doesn’t need much food but lately I’ve been letting him have his fill so he can pack a bit of weight on for winter. During winter he brumates and won’t eat from about November to around May.
Thanks! I like the Globifer also but I find them to be somewhat sensitive to warm temperatures. I’m working on keeping all of them outside year round. My original male is now 9 years old and has been outside for at least 8 years.
Thanks! I should have some YG’s next summer but they will need to get proven out. No Cristifer’s unfortunately. I haven’t been able to acquire any females for a couple years now.
I haven’t been on here in a while. I see I missed out on the calendar pictures this year lol. I’ve been trying to lay low on social media except posting on my Primo Chameleons FB page. My collection is definitely smaller than it’s been in many years and I haven’t had any babies this year...
You’re welcome.
You have received some great advice from elizaann2. She has a beautiful Jackson’s which show how good her care parameters are.
I live in Southern California and kept my Jackson’s outdoors. The weather here is perfect for them. I think one of the most important things is to...
