No, they are still pretty tiny. The females will mature at around 5 months or so and the males only take a couple of months. The females get quite a bit larger than the males. The females will be around 5 inches when they are full grown.- Jerm

Here are a couple of photos of them that I took yesterday. They molted on tuesday and changed to a completely different coloration. Pretty amazing. -
Mantid update...
Well, some bad news with the cryptic, my heater in my house stopped working one night and it got pretty chilly in there. I woke up to a dead mantis. I was however lucky enough to get a few orchid mantis which are amazing so I am changing the photos to them. The first group were taken before... -

I know, luckily it wasn't too hot out. Amazingly enough it has actually grown a quite a bit since then also, it doesn't look as much like a misquito as it did.- Jerm

Growth of a mantid...
I am starting a blog that will document the growth a cryptic mantis(Sibylla Pretiosa) that I recently aquired. I will update with photographs as it grows. It is currently a nymph and smaller than a penny. I am feeding it fruitflies and pinhead crickets.
