So, I have had Bug (male veiled Cham) for about six months now. I estimate he was 6-10 weeks old when I bought him.
He has never touched a fruit, vegetable, or in between.
Should I be worried? I mean I've offered him blueberries, strawberries, banana slices. He just glares at them when I set...
Came home from work today, and brought Bug (aka .50 caliber) out for a moment while I fiddled with his plants a little (pothos ivy, training the feelers) and spotted two spots on the same side of his spikes/spines/back-ridge. One looks like a blister, or a boil maybe. The other looks a little...
So today Bug/50 (veiled chameleon male, I've had him for about 3-4 months now, my guess is he is probably 6 months give or take) did something very out of the ordinary.
Per my usual routine I get back from work (about 2pm) and go to check on him, make sure he ate all his crix, then offer to let...
So just a little bit ago I caught my little buddy sleeping on the screen, and decided "since has fell once because he is not a morning lizard that is probably a horrible spot for him to sleep." So I gently woke him up and repositioned him on his pothos rather than the screening. As I move him...
Just got the little scaley today, initially I was thinking is female but more I look I thinking male…
Opinions? Age estimates are appreciated as well. I'm aware he's starting or finishing a shed so going by tarsal? bumps is difficult.
I think might be little dehydrated as well, gave good shower...
Ok, so in my pursuit of ideal basking temperature and ambient temperature being created by basking bulb I went ahead and bought new lamp, and new bulb.
Both rated for 150w. I put bulb in lamp, I plug lamp in, I turn lamp on.
Beautiful bright light and heat erupt forth in a magnificent orchestra...
Trying to figure out what kind of plant this is because it grows ridiculous fast and has lots of leaves. If not toxic I think epic for chameleon enclosure.
Little bit ranty but-
Is it just me or are there only two chameleon breeder/dealers (LLLreptile and backwater reptiles) who have Jacksons chameleons?
I'm getting a little frustrated at this point, all the equipment is arriving or getting set up for the enclosure, and lo-and-behold I have two...
There are several of these growing around my house and I would really like to set it up in my chameleon enclosure, both because it's really pretty and because the branches appear to be strong enough for climbing.
But I am not 100% sure of what it is.
Has anyone ever done a planted terrarium, almost a garden inside the enclosure?
If so did it work out ok?
I'm talking like planting grass in the bottom, a couple long stemmed leafy plants, I don't know, some beans growing up little posts or something?
Or moss... Whole bed of moss on the bottom.
Howdy,
New here and soon to be caretaker for a Jackson Chameleon.
I wanted to run the setup by all of you first to see if there are any recommendations about the setup before it is brought home.
So far I'm thinking:
24x24x48 ZooMed screen enclosure
ExoTerra monsoon Rainfall system
Ficus...
