So today, I left the door of my chams cage open (as I do every day) after feeding and spraying. A few minutes later I walked back into the room and could not find him in his cage. I thought he was just hiding in the pothos, as he usually does, until I heard scratching sounds coming from the...
Hey everyone. I've had my cham for about 5 weeks now and I'm interested in starting to handle him. First, let me say that my intentions are not to have him as a "handle-able" pet like a bearded dragon, but just to get him comfortable with me for when I have to take him out to clean his cage (or...
Well its starting to get pretty warm here in Tucson, AZ. Im planning on letting my cham outside for an hour or two every day to get that much desired sun :) How will I need to change my supplementation if he is spending about an hour or two in the sun everyday?
Looking to start a breeding colony of these guys so I'm looking for adults or sub-adults to breed. PM or reply with info on the amount of adults (mixed sex of course) you would be willing to sell, and the cost. Thanks!
for these specific supplements:
Rep-Cal plain (no D3)
Rep-Cal with D3
Herpivite
Is it ok to use the standard frequency of: calcium daily, D3 and multivitamin twice a month?
So I know that chameleons dont have the best sense of smell, but has anyone tried scenting their enclosures to make them more comfortable with interactions (like snakes or other lizards)? Anyone tried this, or know someone who has?
Hey, guys. Ive been wondering if vitamin A positively effects the chameleons eyes like it does humans. If so, is it something to keep in mind when supplementing and feeding? Is gutloading carrots a good idea to pass vitamin A to the cham? Let me know if you guys know anything or do anything...
This is probably a question that has been answered hundreds of times on this forum, but why don't i see/hear of people feeding the beetles of superworms or mealworms? Too chitinous? Poor nutritional value?
I saw on LLLReptile's website some magnetic plant holders for suspending plants higher up into the enclosure and was wondering if anyone tried making something like this themselves. I was going to try using some styrofoam and great stuff for the hanger, but couldn't think of a reliable way to...
Hey everyone, do chameleons just keep growing until they pass away, or are they full grown at a certain age? If so, at what age are they concidered fully grown? I am going to be picking up a male veiled after the holidays and will only be able to keep him in a 36''x24''x24'' enclosure until I...
I saw a bunch of posts recently about feeding snails to jacksons, and after a little research, it looks like snails would be a cheap and easy breedable feeder. But do veileds like snails too? Does anyone have experience feeding snails to their veiled cham?
Hey everyone! Im making an enclosure with 1/4'' hardware cloth for the sides&top. Im worried that my feeders will be able to escape too easily, so Ill probably be cup feeding while the feeders are still small. Ill be mostly feeding crickets and dubias and was wondering how tall the cup would...
Hello everyone, in case is wasnt made apparent by the title, I am a newb to chameleons. My experience with reptiles is quite lackluster having only owned a leopard gecko and a kingsnake, my girlfriend (who i live with) has owned bearded dragons and kingsnakes as well. I have been interested in...
