Why does my chameleon treat my crested gecko like a female chameleon (turning orange & black, bobbing his head, trying to get to him/her-too small to tell which gender he/she is-)????

My chameleon has just past the age of 1yr and isn't eating as much as he should be. It's rare for him to eat 2 locusts a day! However when I put meal worms in, he loves them, but I don't think they give him all the nutrients (so I have been told). What should I do???

My chameleon has usually eaten locusts but I gave him meal worms the other day and that is now what he is only eating. He is ignoring all locusts. I have taken his meal worms out the vivarium yesterday but he still isn't eating. Is this normal?

How long a period do I keep the light off during night? I put for the lights to turn on at 8am and off and 10:30pm. Is this ok?

I am getting my chameleon tomorrow and I'm not sure what to do about the lighting. I have one light and a spot lamp. The question I am asking is do I turn both lights off during night???? won't he get too cold????
