I'll upload pictures later this evening. He's a large male veiled chameleon. I inherited him and we will be losing the windowed room he currently lives in. I do not have the heart to relegate him to a windowless basement room. He is approximately 5 years old and is still in good health. He has a...
It's that time of year here in Maryland. Night time temps won't be getting below 55 and daytime temps will be nice and hot. Is it possible to keep a veiled outside full-time in this climate? I know plenty of people do it in the southern states and the temps can get in the 50's there.
5 year old male Veiled, no changes to diet, supplements, bulbs changed every six months.. This shows up on his face pretty much overnight. Any ideas? Thanks!
I can't find mistking nozzles outside of their website..and they want $18 for shipping! Can anybody point me in the right direction? If it would break forum rules, please PM me instead. Thank you!
The person who sold me Dubia was kind enough to toss a few orange heads in as well. All are adults. How do I tell between the two? Males are easy..females I'm struggling.
What's the deal with what seems like zero demand for Veileds? I've seen many adult males go unsold on the classifieds, and babies seem to be going for cheaper and cheaper, to the point that I can't imagine they're even worth breeding any more for most operations. Why use cages on veileds that...
I'm interested in getting another chameleon. I've had 4 throughout my life (jacksons and veileds), but currently do not own any. I have a large set up and mister system ready to go.
I'd like a large, docile chameleon I can feed a nice varied diet. I'm between Oustalet's, Meller's, Parson's...
I'm pretty sure it's too late, but maybe someone has a miracle.
Your Chameleon - Veiled, Female, 10 months
Handling - Once every two weeks, maybe
Feeding - I was better about variety before we moved and work got crazy. I'm not proud to say she's been exclusively on crickets...
Female veiled appears to be (hopefully) temporarily blind. She can't open her eyes and is now showing signs of dehydration. I just replaced the UVB CFL bulb a few days ago and after reading up it seems that could be the cause. Photo ketarine blindness I think (I let my iPhone take over...
Found a tunnel in the pot of my female Veiled's Hibiscus. I dug it out a bit but didn't find anything. She's only 5-6 months old and isn't very big. She does look a bit skinnier but that could be my imagination. She was exposed to a male from 3-4 months of age in a large cage. I don't want to...
She pooped after I put in about already gut-loaded blue bottle flies and they're all over it like...well...flies on poop.
Should I be worried, or will she be fine when she eats them?
One of my mantis egg cases just hatched. I bought a "Flightless Fruit Fly" culture from PetSmart. Um, I call BS on the "flightless" part. These little buggers were flying around within seconds of releasing them into the enclosure.
So, those are out...what can I feed my baby mantises?
These are...
I'll be finishing a cage tonight with a coat of polyurethane and I'd like to know how long until the cage is chameleon-safe? I wouldn't want the fumes to hurt her.
I got three egg cases the other day and put them each in their own deli cup (mesh lid). They're in the garage now in about 75 degrees with medium humidity. What else do I need to do? When can I expect them to hatch?
3-4 months old, still a little girl. Seems like small crickets and baby dubia are my limit. Anything else she can handle at her age/size? I'm well aware of her options as an adult, but just wondering for now. Thanks!
I figured since they're banned for breeding/sale, I wondered if any of my fellow American's chameleons have ever tasted locust? Maybe you caught one or whatever. I've heard they LOVE them.
