Drainage Table-Visual Barrier Build, pic heavy! Part 3.

The big table. Krakatoa and Kraken were happy to be in their new places! I must say, I couldn't believe how big a 2'x2'x4' cage really is! DIYcages is my choice for good cages. Still waiting to order the 18"x18"x36" cages...they have been out for a while. The coroplast visual barriers slide...

Drainage Table-Visual Barrier Build, pic heavy! Part 2.

I used West System Epoxy to waterproof the basin area. It's a great 2 part epoxy designed for boatbuilders. A lot of people who build giant plywood aquariums use this stuff. (Yep, I said plywood aquarium :)...you should google it!) If it's good enough for boats and aquariums, it's good enough...

Drainage Table-Visual Barrier Build, pic heavy! Part 1.

After a month or so, I have finally finished my drainage tables! The large one accomodates two 2'x2'x4' cages for my boys, and the small one accomodates two 18"x18"x36" cages for my girls. Squares and clamps are your best friends. The basin bottom is 3/4" BC exterior grade plywood. The sides...

    Disinfecting T-Rex Bio-Vine?

I'm not sure if a bleach solution will stain it, so I'm scratching my head thinking of alternatives. Any ideas?

    Mulberry Tree growth

Planted a 3' Morus alba in my yard on May 1st. As you can see, it looks like a bare stick in the ground. It had nice, healthy roots. Bought it on eBay, from a seller who lives just a few miles away. Just one week later, a few leaves and buds sprouted. And today, 2.5 months later, it's 6'...

Lazy H crickets: two thumbs up!

Just wanted to say that I was very happy with my bulk cricket order from them. I know some members here recommend them, so I gave Brad a call. Superb packaging...better than my previous supplier. Serious over count. Consistent sizes. And...great price! They are setting up a website soon, but you...

    My panther boys

Took these pics tonight. Krakatoa is the ambilobe; about 4 months old. Not showing off his best colors here; he's usually more "contrasty", and not so pastel. Kraken is the Nosy Faly, about 3 months old. His yellow cheeks are coming in!

    Etymology of Furcifer pardalis?

I am not having much luck in my search. All I could find is the meaning, (forked-spotted?), but not the history (i.e. who first described and classified panthers, etc) Could someone please fill me in?

    She nailed it!

So it was feeding time at the zoo, and I had all 3 cages open and 4 hungry panthers to feed. Three of my panthers take to b. dubia nymphs eagerly, whereas Enakai, my new 1.7 month old Nosy Faly female, ignores them for the most part. She is a picky eater, timid, and I believe she is still...

    Introducing my new Nosy Falys!

Hey, just got my new NF's today, and took a few quick snaps and letting them get used to their new place. Wish I had a better camera...one day. The male (Kraken) is 1.9 months, the female (Enakai) is 1.7 months. I love the hints of blue on the little guy. They are both sharing a cage until next...

Best Reptile Expo in the Southeast?

Hey, can somebody recommend a great reptile expo in the LA, east TX, MS area? I am willing to drive all day for a great expo. I plan on going to Repticon at Baton Rouge near the end of July, though I know not to expect to be overwhelmed. Thanks.

    Egyptian Mantis oothecae

Just thought I'd share my Miomantis paykullii ooth setup. They should be hatching in the next couple weeks, where I will feed them my fruit flies. I hear they can be a communal species. Anyone with experience with these guys want to chime in? I plan on raising them up, feeding some off to my...

    My 3 month old Ambilobes

Just thought I'd share some pictures of my new ambilobes from Kammerflage Kreations. Male is about 2.8 months, female is about 3.3 months. I've had them for a week now and took them outside for the first time. Their colors sure did change when I took them out. Normally the male is a contrast of...

New Panther Chameleon owner; please critique my setup!

Hey everyone, after much research (and much abuse of the wallet), I have setup enclosures for my future pair of 3 month old Ambilobe panthers. These will be my first chameleons, but I am not new to herps. I will be receiving them late this month from the wonderful people at Kammerflage...
