Need help with lighting change. Cham is stressed and I am stuck.

It has been a while, shortly after I made this original post. I saw the teal start to develop August 18th.

Need help with lighting change. Cham is stressed and I am stuck.

Just to update, she has been teal and mustard every day. She hasn’t shown any signs of getting ready to actually lay though. No digging or anything. I’m starting to get concerned. She definitely looks a little round. At what point should I be worried about her becoming egg bound? She has a...

Need help with lighting change. Cham is stressed and I am stuck.

Alright, after rereading the blog, I’m pretty sure you guys are spot on. The last few days she has been super antsy roaming around her enclosure and yesterday and today she’s hardly eaten anything. I’ll keep you updated! Thank you!!

Need help with lighting change. Cham is stressed and I am stuck.

She does for sure have a T5. I ordered a 10.0 just to put back in for a day or so to put back in as a test to eliminate the lighting change as what is going on with her. She has a lay bin however it is taller than it is wide and we are upgrading her to a bigger cage soon (currently 18x18x36) and...

Need help with lighting change. Cham is stressed and I am stuck.

Sorry, I thought I replied but I guess I never posted it. She should be 7-9 months now. Her UV bar is directly on top of the cage right now but I am obviously willing to make any and all adjustments. Currently her basking lamp is behind and is tilted at an angle.

Need help with lighting change. Cham is stressed and I am stuck.

Chiquita’s UV bar recently burned out so we have replaced it and ever since she has been displaying stress colors and trying to escape her cage every day. I do not know what to do from here. Let me start by saying we originally had the wrong light. I know now that was too strong for her. She...

New cham owner. Sometimes she blows a little liquid out of her nose. (?)

Chiquita says thank you! I was just reading through this yesterday and it is so helpful!! Thanks for linking for me. We’re working on getting her set up with the perfect lay bin :D

New cham owner. Sometimes she blows a little liquid out of her nose. (?)

I wanted to post an update on Chiquita. Today was day 14/14 of her antibiotic rotation. We haven’t seen any nasal discharge since before we started (coincidental), no coughs since day 3, and no chin up breathing since ~day 4. She’s been doing awesome and I’m so thankful for the advice we were...

New cham owner. Sometimes she blows a little liquid out of her nose. (?)

Please forgive my ignorance, but how different is a sinus infection from a respiratory infection? How do the diagnostics and treatment differ? Like I said she got a clean xray which I was hoping would be the end of it but she is having some little coughs still, almost like a cat trying to spit...

New cham owner. Sometimes she blows a little liquid out of her nose. (?)

Yes, I saw that and forgot to reply. Unfortunately it was such a small, fine mist that I could not tell what color it was. Clear would be my best guess. We use strictly RO water for her and will definitely continue to do so. Yesterday she did have some additional symptoms such as a couple back...

New cham owner. Sometimes she blows a little liquid out of her nose. (?)

Update: we got her into a reptile/exotic vet today and while I am still cautious, she got a clean bill of health. The vet did a visual exam, felt around, and an xray. She has no fluid in her lungs or anything of the sort. The only thing found was lower bone density, likely from her having come...

New cham owner. Sometimes she blows a little liquid out of her nose. (?)

I found someone close by and will be heading in ASAP, then posting a husbandry check to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Based on my quick summary, is there anything really bad that stands out to you? Thank you so much.

New cham owner. Sometimes she blows a little liquid out of her nose. (?)

Hi everyone, new chameleon owner here. Also new forum user here… please forgive me in advance for my site illiteracy. Please let me know what kind of other information you need on our girl, but here are the basics: we’ve had her for around 3 weeks-a month, she’s probably 5-6 months old...
