Question regarding distilled/RO water and misting system. (Distilled not bad for arboreal reptiles?)

Assuming that the chameleon would get NO rain, then yes lots of its hydration comes from fog and insects. But I'd assume rain water is jam packed full of nutrients. I'm by no means a meteorologist, nor do I know what I'm talking about, but it's just an assumption. I personally have an under sink...

    Mist nozzles go bad?

I second this I use it also, totally worth the $. You could use it to test the water in your reservoir, but I don't think that little filter MK supplies does much; it would only keep big chunks from going through but doubt it stops mineral.

    Little black bugs everywhere

Ahhh mantis ooths, another good one that I forgot about. Drosera capensis would be the species to get and IME they’re very easy provided the right care. Mine even spread like grass and kept flowering. Don’t keep them in the enclosure, they need to sit in a tray of water(think a bog). Their...

Has anyone here had any experience with a machine that distills water? They sell them on amazon

Think this can answer a lot regarding RODI in fairly simple terms. New to here but something I'm familiar with as I'm in the saltwater tank hobbies as well. Here's the War and Peace expurgated version of water filtration... What is RO, Di, RODI... RO is reverse osmosis, its a way to purify...

Will she recover? The battle continues . . .

Are you misting her? You could give her a drip with the syringe but if you think she’s not drinking, I’d miss the critical care runny. Also, if she has parasites Baytril will not help at all.

    Veiled Chameleon-White Spots

...mineral excess from the tap water rather than shedding. Shedding is very obvious and comes off in a layer rather then little flaky pieces. Consider changing to an RO system, distilled water, or a zero water filter system. See if the flaking stops. Plus is will make your equipment last longer.

    Distilled water $1.89/ gallon!!

If I only want to make maybe a gallon of RO water a day would this work for me @MissSkittles ? Also do you need to replace the filters and membranes often?

Are this faucet filters any good?

Brita is about the same as the PUR mentioned above. If by 'jugg water' you mean RO or distilled, that's about as clean/pure as you can get without investing in a home distilled or RO system.

Are this faucet filters any good?

Yeah, me too. I'm going through 7 gal/week just for the chameleon. You? RO water is allegedly le$$, but in our case the additional mileage to get RO water eats up any savings, so we just pick up distilled while grocery shopping.

    Distilled water $1.89/ gallon!!

I think I’m will get the RO thing that you posted @MissSkittles because I think it will pay for itself in a short period of time and also no more lugging water home from the store. That’s hard for me to do.

    Distilled water $1.89/ gallon!!

I would advise to get the 100 gal/hr model though. Currently I make about 20+ gals at a time and it takes me literally all day. You could also find an aquarium store and see what their prices for RO water are.

    Poop check Parsons

Thanks, i’ve never seen my panther drink , but I think Parsons are exceptions to all the rules . As far as drainage I go through about a gallon and a half to 2 gallons of water a Day for our persons that’s why I put in an RO system.. It drains into a 5 gallon bucket I have to dump every day...
