    I found a chameleon

...drainage. The temperatures are those indicated in the chameleon breeding sheets. Do you think this arrangement is okay? If I spray distilled water in the morning and evening, will it be enough? I read that many spray during the night, should I buy an automatic sprayer for the night or is...

    Resource questions

...supervised sunshine time to get some UVB as well while you are waiting for the right lights. 3. I use RO water, I know others use distilled water too. Tap water will have lots of minerals and other gunk in there and it will clog up your misting and fog system really fast. Unfortunately I...

The start of Fungal dermatitis ?

The same. I will buy the distilled water after work today. I guess I could have just done that before even mentioning it. 😂

Call for Research Participation: Fogging in Chameleonoculture

I think is a good issue to examine. What do you think that is This is a good start. What is growing in there? Is it dangerous? What would be dangerous if it was growing in there? Any humid or submersed/wet surface is going to grow stuff. That includes our misters. I think this might represent...

    Rain maker water

Most drinking water (not spring water) sold in gallon jugs in stores is RO water. I used to use only distilled in my misting systems but with the recent shortages I have been running a mix of distilled and RO gallons. I have had no visible build up on the nozzles so far after a year of use.

    Egg laying

...One must have rolled down underneath one of my plastic containers but I found it the next day. I also got vermiculite, soaked in distilled water and rung it out then transferred all the eggs to the vermiculite. Whether or not they are fertile I am definitely more confident and prepared for...

Fogging as a Chameleon Hydration Method

I use distilled water in all my foggers/humidifiers. Tap water that has sat 24hrs uncapped will also work.

    Tamura Designs Ventilation

I love the look of that acrylic enclosure but I wonder how hard it is to keep that acrylic spot free or free of scratches. I’m sure RO or distilled water helps keep mineral spots to a minimum. Maybe some vinegar water on a soft cloth once in a while?

Fogging as a Chameleon Hydration Method

Question about foggers, since I'm not super sciencey - will distilled water even work in them? I thought that foggers had to have some sort of particles in the water for the electricity to work in them so it can aerosolize the liquid into a fog/mist. I had a DIY mini fogger for a while that...

    Rain maker water

Yeah I have always used distilled water in my misters , I don't have easy access to ro, ( unless I put a system in , I have my own distiller at home which wasn't expensive, ( it depends on how easy access you have to it vs electric and time to wait on it distilled, I worked out £25 for 30...

    Reptisafe

A few questions from a new veiled chameleon owner

Hi and welcome to the forum. :) Hopefully I’ll be able to answer your questions well. It’s best to use at least a thermometer/hygrometer with a probe end which is used to measure basking temps. Many of us also use the temp guns too, just to double check. I’m afraid I have to admit I haven’t...

    MistKing Reservoir

Well I do use distilled and keep the lid on. Can’t be any fresher than that. The distilled is $1.00 a gallon and doesn’t leave chalky residue on my leaves

    Rain maker water

You can also look into DI water. Its sometimes alot cheaper than distilled, even though its basically the same product, just s different method.

Country wide shortage of distilled water???

Wow. It takes a lot of time to make distilled water. I was just at Wallyworld and just for curiosity’s sake took a peek at the water aisle. The shelf for distilled water is completely bare.

Country wide shortage of distilled water???

Well my distiller is working well. Problem is I spend 2-3 days a week for 8 hours making distilled water! It is time consuming!

Is the collected water good for plants?

I just use tap water that I’ve let sit out for a while, but it runs through all the plants in there too. Also the color of the hydrangea could change based on the pH level of the soil. I did miracle grow on it a couple times and it started turning pink😂 Maybe I’ll have to buy another hydrangea...

What water to use in MistKing

Hey there hope you are doing well! RO and distilled water are the two recommended due to it filtering out the yuck that can clog your mistking. You know the water fill up stations outside grocery stores? These machines are RO machines. Mine near my house runs like 25 cents a gallon. I would...
