    Neck Lump

I agree it looks like gular edema. If reducing the supplement dose including eliminating the bee pollen and bug grub doesn't show improvement in a week or two then you should get your veterinarian involved. Consider doing blood work.

    Panther with gular edema

I have a panther who was very bright when i got him but his color seemed to fade and he aquired a gular edema. He continued to look pale and finally shed last weed. I thought his color would come back, and while it is better than leading up to the shed, he still looks worse then when i got gim...

...this combination be a problem before but I have seen a standard supplement schedule in combination with a fortified gut load lead to gular edema. Bee pollen is an additional form of supplement. It can vary widely in it's composition. I use it but very sparingly. At this point for you I would...

    Neck Lump

My bet is on over supplementation, but it could be anything. Edema is from fluid leaking into tissue, in chameleons it tends to be the ‘gular’. This can be caused by so many things it’s impossible to say without bloodwork. As @JacksJill mentioned, I’d cut way back on supplements(this includes...

Unbelievable how much we love this girl 🥰

She says hi, poor girl is carrying eggs again and according to her gular edema, by the end of this week or beginning next week she’s going to lay them 🤞🏻🤞🏻

First successful free range bioactive egg laying

O and without gular edema, just amazing how quickly this disappears after she laid her eggs <24h.

Can chameleon get edema of silkworms?

Females seem to get gular edema sometimes at certain points during their cycle.

Hmmm….that’s already some time but not unusual for the first time. How’re the swellings around her ankles? Are you btw noticing a gular edema? That’s for me always the biggest symptom when she’s getting to minus 2 weeks for laying.

    Gular Edema

...of tree cover. I shut the blinds when it is cold outside. Location - Los Angeles Current Problem - I am worried because I am noticing gular edema the past few months. I thought it would go away on its own since my husbandry seems okay to me. It got way worse yesterday. I don’t know if my...

    Gout in chameleons

How often are you using D3? Excessive vitamin D3 supplementation can result in organ toxicity, gular edema, metastatic calcification, gout, and pseudo-gout (calcium-like deposit). I would recommend low protein feeders such as silkworms and hornworms. No dubia or crickets.

My female chameleons eye has a bump. What home remedies can I do for now?

You’ve gotten some great help already. I just want to add that bee pollen has (anecdotally) caused problems in veileds. Some have gotten gular edema and one of mine had gotten an intermittent puffy eye, which went away as soon as I stopped the pollen. While it is super healthy and something they...

...if all goes well we can maybe go to the vet and see if any antibiotics may help (possible infection was talked about last visit). As for gular edema, she got some in November last year when she first went receptive, and it really never fully went away. Right now, I’d say maybe a little. Edit...

Question on appearance of receptive/gravid chameleons

...what it is and some causes…but I’m not 100% sure of everything they say or what they say about getting rid of it. It’s mainly the part about dehydration causing it that I’m questioning. https://bewildnc.org/veiled-chameleon/#:~:text=Gular Edema: This is essentially,be offered twice a month.

Question on appearance of receptive/gravid chameleons

@Sonny13 Speaking of gular edema Does this look similar to your girl throat wise? I think you mentioned that she got gular edema or atleast swelling when she was receptive/gravid.

Maybe the silks are more tolerant for her stomach. Roaches are wider and harder in the shell and maybe pushing against the eggs. As long as she can still use her feet without problems than it’s okay I guess. Just keep an eye on edema, it could help with the timing.

Going strong since laying. But is this edema?

Are you concerned about her gular? Some ladies will have a bit of gular edema around the time of laying eggs, so it should go away.
