Chameleon asleep for 30ish hours straight?

On one hand you could compare it to shipping where he's in a box for 16-24 hours. Alternatively you can use the butterfly pop up idea to allow some activity / light. If you have space consider building up a small Rubbermaid and fashion a screen lid or side to make airflow and the light cycle...

    HELP ASAP PLEASE

Show box. You want something that blocks out all light. If the vet is more than a few mins away they typically go to sleep. You can put a sturdy stick in there two if you want. Just make sure it doesn’t roll around.

Anyone know how to come about this?

I know the type, as do all veterinarians & vet techs. You could remind her that... Please read the entire article. I'm not suggesting ratting out a relative—just passing along some "scare material". But I doubt even this would help. I regret this is going to end badly for a lot of animals...

Baby cham with SEVERE MBD - need help!

I don't work with any vets that feel comfortable seeing exotics... and for the first few days I honestly didn't want to put even more stress on him with the transportation. But if this is truly what is best I would of course be willing to find a veterinarian that feels confident in exotics to...

    Sending off

Yeah problem is that His grip is still very weak, might transfer him back to his cage once he shows me that he can climb without falling. I'm going to try and offer food which I don't think he'll take. The rag I was just putting down to let dry but yes unnessecary at this point. Apollo is...

    Vet

I have a medium critter tote inside of a styrofoam cooler, with a pair of hot packs between the tote and the styrofoam. I also don't drive, so unless I can hitch a ride I end up busing and spending a lot of time outside in the Canadian weather! Generally, a shoebox or similar with a secure...

    Jackson Chameleon Availability..

Cons: The Jackson's from Hawaii are severely inbred as they came from just a few dozen imported and then escaped individuals. You would be selecting a wild caught animal vs a hand raised baby. If you are unfamiliar with what it takes to adjust a wild caught you will want to do the research now...

    Euthanizing....

Had to get some sleep last night, so I'm catching up this morning. First off, I was definitely not worked up. I do apologize if it seemed that way, or if I said something that caused any hurt feelings. Like you said text is not the best way communicate. I find all of this very interesting...

    Car Rides?

I live in 2 places... one for work & one for school. I own a restaurant and go to college full time and am back and forth frequently. But, if I'm going to be away from him overnight and there's no one to feed him in the morning I bring him with me. I only transport him about once every 2 weeks...

    Normal shaky leaf?

Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon - female veiled chameleon. I would guess around 4 months. Previous owner said she was about 4 inches long when they got her and they had her about 3 months. I just got her last night Handling - Only twice since I got her last night- once to move to larger box for...

Highlighter yellow panther mouth and still very little growth

4g seems a little on the small side for 3 months, though it's not too abnormal. For reference, my hatchlings are usually 0.5 g, females averaged 12-15g at 3 months, and males were 15-20ish. I did have a particularly small female who was 5g at 3 months, but she was 18g by 6 months old. I'm sure...

Veiled Lady has become ill out of blue

Hey all yall that are still watching this, I have a question about the vet - what is the best way to transport a chameleon? When healthy I would probably just carry her on my person, but I am not doing that with her in her current state. Can I use a cat carrier and prop a stick in it? Should...

Came Home from Work & My Chameleon was stuck

Thank you for the advice! I will continue to keep an eye on his tail. Part of the reason I’m hesitant to take him to the vet is because the weather is freezing where I am right now and just transporting him would be traumatic. That being said, if I need to, I will.

    Colour okay?

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. A) I DON’T gutload spinach? B) I knew I should’ve gone with my gut on getting more supplements. I’ve just ordered the extras he needs and will switch between them accordingly (should be coming tuesday). C) Due to the Covid situation I have been unable...

Coconut eco earth getting stuck to my chameleons tail and legs

Sadly, a lot of this is wrong and needs to be adjusted immediately, so bear with me here, as there is going to be a lot of info to digest. My feedback and any questions will be in red, but it is more important to get her to an experienced chameleon vet first! While the husbandry changes need to...

Vet visit! How do I take him?

Soooo my little guy has his first vet visit this Monday! As many of you have suggested, I’ll be collecting a fecal sample and filling in the how to ask for help sheet. I was just wondering where you guys put your chams to transport them to the vet. I don’t wanna stress him out :(

    Normal shaky leaf?

My responses will be in red. I’m going to link articles and care pictures at the bottom. I’m only commenting on your general husbandry since there are more experienced female veiled keepers on here. You will need a properly set up lay bin soon that will become a permanent part of her enclosure...

Veiled Lady has become ill out of blue

And if it means much, I live in Georgia and it has been raining yesterday and this morning so humidity should be high today as the sun rises. Right now it's slightly chilly but will increase to high 70s shortly
