    Dalmatian like spots

Ok, so you have some upgrades to make. You do have the coil uvb bulb which isn’t able to provide adequate uvb levels. You’ll need to get a linear T5 ho fixture with either a 5.0 or Arcadia brand 6% uvb bulb. It needs to be long enough to span the width of your enclosure...so 24”. Proper uvb is...

First time Veiled Chameleon owners, want to make sure we're doing things right

Cage Info: Cage Type - It is a terrarium, glass, however the front part of the cage has a large rectangle screened part at the top facing you of the terrarium and at the back, and the top is also screened. We plan on purchasing a bigger, even more screened cage within a couple months. For now...

Adult veiled chameleon found in my yard.

Not to be rude, but this isn't all correct. The chameleon should not be fattened up. Saying to feed waxworms isn't a great idea. Avoiding mealworms, eh sure there's better feeders, but it's been mostly debunked a few times on here that they're any sort of real danger and are more nutritious...

Is my panther a male or female?

Some tips from one keeper to another... 1.) It is fine for right now, but you will for sure want to upgrade your cage to a bigger size within a few months. She will quickly out grow that cage. 2.) Get a linear uvb light, those spiral lights are no good. 3.) Get rid of the fake plants and add...

    Chameleon with multiple possible problems..

I am replacing the compact uvb ASAP and have turned it off today to see if it’s the cause of him keeping his eyes closed and mostly having his one eye irritated. I will up the vitamins and the reason his food intake is higher than normal is because he is underweight and I am trying to gradual...

    Burns??

I’ll put my feedback in red. :) Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care? I don’t have a definite answer on how old my girl is but if i had to estimate, maybe 1-2 months? Petsmart is awful about these sorts of things. I have had her for...

    Help needed

Well the material for the background is foam, its the basic background that comes with exoterra tanks, its the cheap 1 foam like you get in shipping materials, with it carved and some paint lol. Yes a chameleon can 100% climb it, as well as easily shred it apart and stick their nails into it...

What is the problem? Please help.

Everything in your husbandry is pretty spot on now. The green carpet in the bottom needs to be removed as it will just be a bacteria breeding ground and is not healthy. Based on looking at the enclosure you need more cover. How are you checking your temps at basking branch?

    Some questions about behavior/coloration

I took my panther cham Ramses out for some sun yesterday; he has no problem with short periods of handling, so I stood out in a sunny spot with him for about 20 mins while he basked before taking him in. Since I went back inside with him, he's been super active and I'm not totally sure why? It's...

Will my Chameleon ever be used to me?

I just bought my chameleon from a reptilian in DFW, and he is a Panther Chameleon. They said he is about 3 months old, and he was born at their store. He looks very small for a 3 month old. Are you sure he is a he, as well? She said he had a big attitude and has bitten multiple members of the...

    Gravid?

Two to three hours intermittently? As long as you are ritualistic about getting the water out then you are ok with drainage. I have not found that ideal in my experience and I suggest finding a better method of getting the water out of the cage. You're not wrong, but it might be less of a pain...

    Finished the buggo rack!

First "Terrarium" has arrived. I made 2 of the shelves to fit this exactly, however now I'm think the second one might hold something slightly different. The reason I chose this, is I prefer the venting style, I think 18x18x20 is a cooler size (gives me 18x18x18, with 2 inches of substrate...
