What do I need to make my cage Bioactive?

Just thought I would share. There is nothing in my cage yet but here is my bioactive cage setup, I haven't set up my misting system but one bottle of water with the spray bottle can keep me at 50% humidity into the night. I would suggest installing your misters early and not using the spray...

    Introducing Kismet! (FEmale Translucent Veiled)

Kismet has easily doubled in size in the last 3 weeks, and has a practically insatiable appetite! Her newest trick is going to the floor of her (bioactive) enclosure and turning over leaflitter to hunt her CuC. Don't eat the maids, Kiz! They're there to help! She hand feeds readily, and...

Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care? Cricket is a Panther Chameleon. I got her in early Dec she was supposed to be 1-3 months old when I got her but she was so tiny I doubt it. She could be 7-10 months old. In my care 7 months. She...

    Hornworm soil for pupate

I would go with a bag of soil. I would worry about introducing some kind of parasite through soil from outside. If you’re bioactive, throw those suckers in the enclosure at night. The chameleon won’t eat them, and they’ll hatch in a couple weeks!

First chameleon please help me give him a great life

As far as for cleaning the live plants before putting them in, do I need to clean them with something specific or just hand rinse every inch with tap water? Also I seen some people having specific “cleaning crew” bugs in the soil of the live plants, is that something I should also be doing to...

    Substrate

If you’re going to try bioactive, there’s a learning curve. For the time being, remove your substrate and put in lots of live plants. Take your time and research bioactive enclosures, there is a lot to maintaining them successfully. A lot more to it than just a bag of dirt. You need a...

    Iggy's Got New Digs!

I was able to get a killer deal on Iggys new enclosure this weekend. It's a 24x24x48 Reptibreeze LED Deluxe with the clear Plexi front. I didn't care at all about the LEDs since they don't do anything and I have a 4 bulbs fixture but I really wanted the clear front. This cage is SO much bigger...

    Pascal's New Bioactive Home!

I would do some research before getting all your plants. As another member said, hibiscus has very particular conditions. Bahahaha, no that sounds rather wrong. But good to know xD To be truthful I don't even own a drill, never mind a diamond drill part and for one hole I am not going to rush out and buy one. Do you have a photo of your siffon drainage system? I am intrigued. Tbh I was clearly given terrible...
